As I interpreted the somewhat rambling post on GT, the “failure” was apparent core/jacket separation, and the OP believed the ammunition was supposed to be bonded.
I’m not aware if PDX1 is marketed as bonded or not, but, everything made by man fails eventually. I don’t see an explosive fragmentation of that round - though it’s hard to tell based on the testing protocol (denim and water jugs).
If I was carrying that round for SD purposes, that round wouldn’t make me run for the hills.
Of course, I’m not sure I’d pick that round to start with…
