Palmetto State Armory 1911

Does anyone have any photos or information on the new Palmetto State Armory 1911? I only found out about it today. If they build it with the same quality and low price as that of their AR, they should be a hit.

I have heard nothing of this. That being said,
I like Palmetto for what they offer. But AR-15s are like building legos and 1911s are more like making watches. I do not think i would trust the guys at PSA assembling uppers with a 1911 build.

Agreed.

Here is the only photo of it that I’ve been able to find so far:

Looks nice, nothing super fancy but I would like more info.

Probably rebranded RIAs

No. Made in USA, Nowlin barrel, and they feel very nice. The triggers felt ok. Some of my pics from SHOT. I have more to share later when I find the time.
Edit: both are cerakoted.

I managed to find another photo and, for some unexplained reason, it looks much, much nicer in this one:

No one can resist that billboard space…

I’m always interested in new 1911 offerings. There are quite a few 1911 makers, but the list of companies making them right and at a decent price point is a very short list. Or, even just the list of companies making them right, period, is pretty short.

Frames look like STI cast frames. Might be wrong though.

So…where are the guns? I didn’t see any guns in that photo! All I could see was…umm…well, never mind, but I didn’t see any guns. DID see some other equipment that looked pretty nicely made tho…lol.

Are you a No Slack guy?

How much for one? I am looking at a rock island vz rail version for $600 right now. These look nice, but its whats on the inside that matters!

well maybe that means they will offer 1911 parts for the builders

the bottom one looked nice

The girl on the left was kind enough to hold my coffee while I checked out the 1911. The gun looks really good. I was impressed. My understanding from the PSA guys is that they will be in the $1-1.5k range.

Will there be a railed version?

Has anyone heard anything on price? Hopefully it is in line with all the rest of PSA stuff…if it is they will have a winner.

Just based on my own experience and maker’s reputation, I would be highly skeptical. Best to let someone else be the guinea pigs here. If there was ever a more appropriate time for “you get what you pay for…”
