Painted my trench hawk

Looks great. I love painting gear, but I usually just do krylon in random splotches - nothing fancy but it gets the job done with NO aesthetics.
I’m sure I’m not the only one that wants to know how you made the pattern and what paint you used.
Nice Job.

Looks good…

reminds me of Ricky Bobby… “JACK HAWK 1000!” :stuck_out_tongue:

IF YOU DON’T CHEW BIG RED THEN…YOU! :sarcastic:

I need to rent that movie now.

this thread went downhill fast!!!

I just used Krylon and sponges. I have had a lot of practice…
I paint most of my gear and guns

It’s impossible to compete with Will Ferrel, especially when John C Riley is involved too. It’s a comedic slam dunk.

Did you spray the sponges first and dab them or use them with paint thinner after the color was applied?
I would post pics of mine but it looks like a kid did them, while on the short bus, licking all the flavor off the windows.

I really like your camo job. it has alternating dark and light areas at the margins breaking up the outline.

I think one of the biggest failures I see when people camo their gun is they place their variable pattern equally on the surface so it like “camo between the lines”. without edge disruption it’s still definable as a gun…

I used a tuff tote lid as a pallet. I sprayed the color on the lid and dipped the sponges in the paint. I used all different sizes and shapes of sponges. I used a matte finish as a clear coat…

Thanks

I wanted it to work in multiple environments so I modeled it after ATACS

That’s fantastic work!!!:dirol:

I went for a more neutral look when I painted my rifle, but that heavy blotching does a much better job than I anticipated.

I may have to go back and get more aggressive with the dark patches. Again great job!

So are you Jack Hawkers spraying the sponge, then Dabbing the object? I might have to try this. Looks good.
