I found a local place that has a P30s in .40 and I’m debating on buying it. Does anyone know if the safety lever can be removed resulting in just a regular DA/SA P30 with the decocker near the hammer? Thanks.
I believe you can. I think a gun smith will have to do it, though.
Was that .40 P30s at Shoot Straight in Tampa? If so, thats the exact gun I almost bought when I bought my P30 V3 in 9mm.
It’s at the Gun Gallery in Jax. I might just have them order me a regular P30 if the conversion takes gun smithing.
Sad thing though, the current P30s that are chambered in .40 are only available in the “S” model and LEM variants. At least in my area. Fire_Medic if I recall may have spotted one in the Miami area.
You guys know if the shorter slide release lever of the S model will fit non safety P30’s? If so anyone buy one from HK (do they even sell them) and swap them out?
I’ve been told it will fit, I called HK but they didn’t have one to sell me ![]()
The de-cocking button next to the hammer is part of the sear. You’ll need the sear for the da/sa version. The issue will be the channel for the arm from the sear to the rear of the slide won’t be there and will need to be cut, if it even can. That channel is why the da/sa conversion to LEM isn’t around, it leaves the opening in the rear of the slide for the potential of debris getting into the works.
The LEM is the highly desired version in the P30 these days. A change of the trigger return spring and it has a nice trigger press.

What part numbr are your referring to - the 209296?
No the 234389 The P30 springs differ from the rest of the return springs, by having one long leg on it.
It will fit. I spoke with Travis at HK and they are about $18.
I lightened my V2 with:
– 209296, the firing pin block spring.
– 214300, the non-LEM hammer spring
It’s slightly lighter than the V4. Both of these parts are also easy to swap, whereas the 234389 trigger return spring is a little more involved. I have one on hand in case I change my mind, but am very pleased with the trigger as-is.
Where they available? I need to give them another call.
He talked like they were. I told him I was going to try again at the next range session, he said let him know if I needed one. I’d give them a call.
