That’s a lotta snowfall:
That was an expensive snow storm.
Reminds me of the shuttle buran collapse. If my russian serves me right, buran means snowstorm… :sarcastic:
I think(dont quote me) the most expensive hangar collapse from snow was in Washington Dulles in 2010. Filled with Gulf Streams, Falcon’s, and Global Express’s. Over 300 million in damage to aircraft.
Two feet of snow at the Dulles Jet Center cause the roof to collapse on all four of their hangars. Hangar D had 4 or 5 aircraft that were essentially undamaged.
Here is the list of aircraft in Hangars A, B, and C. Most were broken up and sold for parts.
1 Beechjet 400A
1 Cessna 208B Caravan(FedEx)
1 Cessna 414 (Piston Twin)
1 Falcon 2000EX
1 Falcon 900EX
4 Global Express - (1 belonged to Kodak)
2 Global XRS
1 Gulfstream G-IV
1 Gulfstream G450
1 Gulfstream G-V (Hilton Hotels) - (Repaired)
1 Hawker 800A - (Repaired)
1 Hawker 800XP
1 Learjet 45 - (Repaired)
Here are 2 Global Express and Hilton’s G-V trying to take off.
