"Our World War" on Netflix

Hey Gang,

I was traveling last week and had some time to kill so I went to Netflix and found this mini series. Its called “Our World War” and basically is first hand narratives of World War One veterans put to film. Its has historical overlays, overhead imagery, and “Saving Private Ryan” level cinematography. It really underscores the horrific casualties and violence of WWI. Episode One is the Battle of Mons, where the British meet the Germans for the first time. Episode 2 is at the Somme, and Episode 3 is the Battle of Amien told from the perspective of a tank crew.

I thought this was a very well done series and shows how unprepared the Brits were for the carnage of modern war fare. Would love to see what others thought.

It looks like a great option since I just finished the last season of the show I was keeping up with. I was waiting for Dan Carlin’s last segment of Hardcore History to release, and it came out a couple of days ago. That really has helped me learn more about WWI, and it would be interesting to see it portrayed through video as well.

I enjoyed it as well just wish there was more than 3 in the series.

I just wish they actually had the DVD option. Sounds interesting.
