So I really want to do a pistol caliber gun for my first SBR. Which will be suppressed. I am an AR fanboi so naturally this leads me to 9mm ARs.
But I’ve always thought that they looked a little silly. What with the small stick mag sticking out of a big mag well designed for 5.56. And as we all know if you don’t look good your probably doing it wrong.
So I want to know what other options there are for a 9mm sbr. I have seen the Ddles dedicated 9mm ar lower and they are definitely on the list of options, but I want to know what other rifles are out there ripe for the cutting and silencing.
I’d prefer to keep the price around the same as an AR, under a grand preferably.
Only stipulation is that it must accept magazines with a capacity around 30. No high point carbines here. And Id like to see something that locks back on the last round, but I don’t know if any do.
Since I grew up in the 90’s when every high speed movie operator used an HK, I have always loved them too. Unfortunately they seem to be going for around 2 grand which is more than I want to spend.
Not trying to be a newbie too much but you might consider the sig 522… I picked up a sig 522 SWAT pistol for $299 off of gun broker that is going to be my first sbr.
Cheap, fun, reliable with black dog mags, and look awesome!
How is it in comparison to the 556? A guy I know just got one, I was really excited to see it and shoot it…until I HELD IT! That thing is such a front heavy PIG!
He put a stupid ass VFG, the kind with a pistol grip and a trigger to activate the light, jesus christ what a joke it is.
Oh and the first thing he asks is “Is it shorter than your SBR?” What a fucking tool, he just spent 2k tryin to one up me.
I like the sig guns. But I’m looking for a 9mm. If I went 22 it would probly be an ar conversion or possibly one of the cheap mp5 copies or a 10/22 with that hkg36 look alike kit I’ve been reading about.
It’s identical…but much lighter up front because there is no gas tube or piston rather. The complaint I have with the 556 is the same as yours…too front heavy. The 522 pistol does not have that problem. So reliable too…and cheap!
Nice. I replied to your comment last night but the order is all messed up.
Anyway, ya, I now will forever hate the Sig 556. What were they thinking? They really let it go out like that? No one noticed that extra ten pounds in th FRONT OF THE RIFLE! lol. What a pile of shit.
And like I said, I think the guy bought it JUST for the “one up”.
Ill check out the 552 when I can. I like they way it looks better too
