Sweet video!
Cool vid, i wonder when we are going to see the rifle…
Here’s hoping they will have a new update for us at SHOT.
I just don’t have much faith in this. Even though it was designed by Magpul it has been touched by both Bushmaster and Remington. That doesn’t instill much confidence in me.
But oh how I hope I am wrong.
While Rich and the rest of the Magpul engineers are brilliant, they are not really firearms designers. (correct me if im wrong)
I was initially interested in the Masada because of the ergonomic advantages and adaptability of the system. Very few of us can really say whether or not the actual firearm that Magpul themselves put together was any good comparatively speaking to an AR15.
I know that there are couple prototypes out there that have seen thousands upon thousands of rounds but again, the differences between the Masada, the ACR and the REMINGTON ACR may be for the better in the end. The ergos still remain largely the same so again, we can only hope that having a major firearms manufacturer on hand is actually a good thing in the development of the weapons platform and any changes to the actual operating system were a step forward and not a step backwards.
Really cool video. I can almost taste the ACR goodness! BM/Rem could make the damn thing outta cottage cheese for all I care, I’m buying one regardless. The whole reason behind building a tier -1 M-4 is so if the newest and neatest rifle sucks you have a go to weapon on standby.![]()
I know I will have one, but I am having a hard time determining what this offers that isn’t available now.
I won’t allow myself to get excited 'til I see one in a shop.
I’ve had my hopes up for a long, long time on this. If the prophecy is true, and these do hit the streets this year…I just hope they can keep up with the demand.
See, thats what im wondering as well. As much as i want one it not going to do anything my existing AR15’s dont already do.
Two years from now the platform will prove its worth when there are 5.45, .22, 7.62X39, 6.5 and 6.8 caliber options available but right now, the modularity of the system does nothing for the average shooter.
Again, do i still want one? Yes, yes i do. ![]()
It does meet needs, but not needs I have… The AR part compatibility does make me really want one though… The size of it, although not heavy, seems to bother me a bit as well.

Cool to know that was what they were doing…
I sure hope that I make to the Shot Show and that I can fondle this thing.
Why does the rail not cover all but the adjustment end of the gas block?
No hopes up with the input the project has received.
Will,
If you’d like to fondle something I thought the camels would have taken care of your desires. Maybe another trip to the sandbox is in order. Actually, are you still CONUS?
I saw that video a couple of weeks ago. It’s well though out concerning the feature display.
My only guess for the gas block being open is for cooling of the part(note cooling fins) and venting(may blow onto hands if the rail is there-with the hand)
I do have high hopes for this rifle and would like to be shooting one soon(Drake----
)
I move it into the"other section"
Probably to ensure good cooling as indicated by the ribbed gas block.
I truly want one of these,I really do. But Imust answer two fundamental questions first:
- if I don’t sbr or suppress it, do I need it?
- what does this offer, in 16" config., that my BCM Middy does not?
If the market was limited to only what is needed then we would have almost no choices. Heck if that were the case we would all have about 4 or 5 guns and no more.
The grip only holds 1 AA battery? What a rip! ![]()
Neat video.
