I had some free time yesterday and decided to clean out the closet and organize my ammo supplies. What do you guys use and how do you store it ?? I bought a $6 label maker from wally world and labeled the ammo cans. Have you guys found a certain type of ammo can to work better than others ? Here is what they look like now. The plastic box has all my cleaning gear inside plus a few misc tools/acc.
Looks like I need to buy more ammo That is if I can find some out there…lol
I don’t reload so I don’t need that much space yet. Thanks for the pics guys.
Sandman, could you tell us what size box that is that’s full of PMAGs? I have 3 different sized ammo cans - none allow me to organize and fit in such a manner. The cans are narrower, and too short. Unfortunately, they’ve also been painted over, and I have no markings to go by.
Thanks a ton! Now I know precisely what I need to be on the lookout for.
I knew they must be a bit deeper, and obviously wider… but longer, too. Looks like a perfect solution for me. Once located, I’ll be doing similar to store mine.
HAHA, I saw the thread title and thought “ammo cans and a label maker”!
Tape and a sharpie works in a pinch.
SAW boxes are the shit. Like a .50 can but a little wider and taller and fits GI mags with ranger plates perfect. 500 loose with loader in the .30 cal can next to it completes my training class load-out. 75 grain Black Hills in the black mags, more training ammo in the tan ones.
Thats where I got mine at. I saw some at the last gun show in orlando but they wanted $15-$20 but they were in great shape. Plus no shipping charges so I bought 2 but was spending money on ammo and other goodies. They also had .50 cal and 20mm boxes too. My handwriting sucks so I like the clean look of the labels. Plus I used it for some storage boxes I have in the closet, mostly books and odds’ n ends.
Hey guys, am I gonna get bashed for using a labeler ?? I could put a colt logo on it or maybe one from olympic for shits and giggles !! I was at the evil wally world looking for ammo and happened to walk by them and picked one up.
Thanks. Will keep that in mind if I don’t find any locally, or locally can’t compete with their pricing.
Oh hell no. Not by me, anyway… My handwriting sucks so bad that a) I can’t read it half the time, and b) doctors and pharmacists actually look up to me for my absolute butchery of the caligraphic arts.
The biggest problem with labels is that they can fall off if used in a not so perfect environment. I prefer a sharpie in big letters. If you want to be cool, use a military style stencil and yellow paint.
