Optics for M4's

What type optics do you guys use on your M4’s.I am mainly looking for Eotech models and scopes. Also best for the money whether expensive or low cost.

RDS=Aimpoint T1

Varible Scope=Short Dot

These are my favorite. There are several good varible power scopes out there, but the Short Dot is my favorite of what I have tried. I have used magnified optics all my life while hunting, and have shot a good many moving animals with them. To me they are second nature, but for a general purpose optic the Aimpoint T1 is hard to beat.

consider an Aimpoint T-1

or Aimpoint M4s

Just peruse the LaRue site and you’ll find something high quality that you’ll like.

An EOTech 512 is a great choice. I have one on my M4gery with a YHM BUIS and it works great.

What is the intended purpose of the optic/rifle combination?

I am pulling my Eotech off of my SOCOM 16 to use on my new 14 1/2" M4. I plan on having it as a CQB setup. If I get a longer barrel or a grendell upper I plan on getting an adjustable sight for longer ranges. Just depends on what you want to do with it.

Intended use is coyote hunting and other purposes.

You may want to consider a Trijicon Accupoint.

Accupoint would be excellent for that.

i had to sell mine in a pinch, but i intend to get another…in large part to predator hunt.

my Aimpoint is great, but that maginification comes in very handy at longer ranges.especially in the dark, when all you can see is eyes.

I run an M4S on my latest m4 build and i gotta say it was a wise choice;). On my property here in WV i dont get any long shots on the yotes (100 yards at the most)…The dogs die just fine with the aimpoint.

In my inventory I have a TA01NSN, ML3, M4S and Eotech 512. I like them all, but the Eotech is my fav. It really depends on what you are trying to do I think.

Agree with thekatar. For your intended purposes I’d think you want magnification. I wouldn’t think that a red dot would be the best toll for the stated job.

Its pretty much if you want a Reddot 1 power optic you will wanna go with a Aimpoint or EOTech if you want a Optic with some power then you go with the ACOG… I find the ACOG to be the best all around battle optic… They are much better then scopes, meaning, very good glass for night, faster and will take alot more abbuse … There are some ok Scope type optics tho… The best being Accupoint and Shortdot… but the Optics that will take the most are the Aimpoint and the ACOG, EOtech being right after… and you can alway add 4x power to the Aimpoint or EoTech if you want but you will not get the accuracy as you will get with the ACOG and its BDC chart… But if you are just a bench shooter that will go to the range every month or so and you want a good optic there are tons of them out there…

Short Dot

Actually you dont need the Short Dot - I was just being an ass – the Accupoint might be you best option.

I dislike the ACOG family for that sort of role for the BAC does not work with everyone and especially with movement of the tgt (or you) is not ideal at all.
