I have not been issued NV since 2003 so I am not super up to speed on it these days. My rifle has a NF ATAC-R 1-8 on it with a mount height of 1.54”. I have neck issues and all my other mounts are lower third 1.70, so I was planning on raising the ATAC-R to 1.70” with the Badger C1 mount. Then I had a buddy tell me that I would never be able to use clip-on devices (NV or Thermal which I intend to buy someday) because they all have built in proprietary mounts at 1.54” and with a spacer can be raised to 1.93” (too high for my taste) and it is not possible to manufacture a spacer or system to use clip-ons at 1.70” height. Is this accurate? Seems crazy that some quality NV or Thermals don’t have mount options for 1.70”??? Thanks for any info!
