I had planned to run a set of MBUS (which I already own) behind a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x on my SPR build. I noticed the LT-104 wasn’t compatible with the MBUS, but I wanted to add some cant to give me more come-up on the optic anyway, so I planned to go with the LT-158 mount that has 12 MOA built in. It doesn’t say it is incompatible with the MBUS. Before ordering, I thought I’d better be sure. It is not compatible with the MBUS. I see there is another mount that is, but it seems much too high and lacks cant to give me more elevation travel. Does anybody have any suggestions that won’t lead to me having to buy a new set of BUIS? Thanks in advance.
Why not the LT-135? Also, even though they say the LT-104 will not work with MBUS, some scopes do clear it, it really depends on the scope.
I’m sort of in the same dilemma with my SPR, I have MBUS on it now and have yet to purchase a scope, but when I do I will certainly go with the LT-104 mount, and if the MBUS doesn’t clear whatever scope I decide on then they are coming off. I’m not going to let my cheap MBUS that i will probably never use dictate the expensive mount and glass I use.
It says it won’t work with the MBUS on the LT-104, so I called and asked about the LT-158 and they verified it would NOT work with a Conquest.
The reason why I’m hesitant to go with the LT-135 is because it has no cant, thus limiting my “up” travel. If zeroed I’m in the middle of my travel, that limits my range.
Its looking like I’ll ditch the MBUS.
I have seen people use a LaRue BUIS as a hand stop on their railed hand guard until it is needed in the BUIS role. Keeps it out of the way and it holds zero when you remount it on the upper reciever.
nevermind
