Any one identify this optic cut? Gunbroker auction seller only states M&P 2.0 MOS but doesn’t fit the M&P CORE plates and I don’t have any Glock MOS plates to verify.
I would call S&W customer service and would be surprised if they xannot provide the answer as well as a set of plates that were included when gun was new, for free.

I ordered one off Amazon for overnight delivery to try, its the CORE footprint. If it doesn’t work, freeeee return.
I’m not sure its a MOS or CORE style plate system. Almost looks direct cut, maybe Deltapoint? I need to find someone with a Deltapoint I can try. I’d rather use the 508T I have here, not have to buy another optic lol
Not to derail, but I drag this soap box with me everywhere.
I wish they’d come up with a standard RDS mounting solution. If God gifted me with an engineering brain and fabrication skills, I’d attack this half assed mess we’ve been suffering through for how long??
Absolutely 100% agree. Honestly the RMR foot print is the most common and why it isn’t used by everyone for optics like those is beyond me other than “we don’t wanna copy Trijicon”.
Also, ordered 2 different “optics” plates off Amazon from CHP. One for the M&P Core series and one for Glock MOS. Neither fits so back to Amazon they go which leads me to believe this is the Leupold Deltapoint footprint as my 508T and RMR both do not fit.
I’m almost wondering if buying $6 expendable calipers and poking around is really the ‘right’ answer, just spending that much time on this feels silly.
Totally agree that the lack of unified ‘hey, this hold pattern lets us install these on glocks and M&P’s, plus anything else’ hasn’t really caught on.
Too large for the most popular carry guns and the through holes are in the wrong place for enclosed optics, from what I can tell.
It really needs to become a pic rail type attachment with closed emitter sights.
I think the Aimpoint ACRO 2 or whatever it is called is the answer. These open emitter sights, even the better ones, are good weather gamer toys at best. Rain, morning sun, and dirt render them useless.
I disagree. Ive used mine in sun, dirt and rain (sro) and it was fine. Not optimal, but usable once you exoerience it a time or two.
At the very least, come to an Industry Standard “top footprint” each for Open and Enclosed, and then a common “plate footprint” on the bottom joining the plate to the gun.
Or just find a way to make a 1913-rail plate.
Feels like stack height is just too important in most applications, and slide width variance is just a struggle. TBH, I don’t love the concept of having a widening plate ever be involved, and I’m willing to run an inferior optic on handguns just to avoid it.
