Open sight solution for aging eyes.

If you are like me, and plagued with terrible eye sight, it can be really difficult to quickly focus in on a mill spec front sight post.
I have bad problems with quickly focusing on small objects.
I’ve tried Aimpoints, Eotecs, Sparcs, Strikfires…and determined red dots are not for me, I really believe I’m faster with open sights, but my eyes, with my glasses are terrible up close…and horrible at distance without. Focusing on a front sight post is very difficult with glasses, and without I can’t even see it!

This is why I want to give Blitzkrieg components a shout out!
This may not be for everyone, but I absolutely love them! Focusing on the Chevron is super fast, compared to anything else I’ve tried.
And the luminescent strip, coupled with tritium makes it even better.
I can actually see the whole sight picture without my glasses! Which is amazing considering it’s the first carbine front sight I can say that about.

I am totally sold on the chevron sighting system.

So others don’t to go look it up …

I’m really a red dot kinda guy. so for me irons are just a back up. Before you ask… yes, a lot of that is due to my eyes going to shit as I get old.
It also has a lot to do with the speed of target acquisition. A red dot saved my ass (twice on the same day) in Iraq just by allowing me to be faster than Haji.
So… I still think a red dot is much faster than irons, and therefore better as a primary sight (even for people with good eyes) but this is looking to be an interesting option, in a back up.

I guess we are all different. I should possibly try a prismatic sight. I have looked through a few Acogs…and I love them! But, at the end of the day, I’ve found what works for me. And these sight posts are worlds cheaper then an Acog….more ammo.
