Open bottom BCG any problems ? Possible AR-15 A3 Purchase

A local shop around me has a few Colt Ar-15 A3 police trade in’s for around $750. I am tempted to pick one up but they have the Open bottom bolt carriers and screw in pivot pin. I am not sure what size the FCG pins are . They are a little beat up scratches and all but not totally horrible well one is pretty bad.

What do you guys think get it or pass? I was also considering picking up a Noveske upper. But not sure which way I want to go.

It depends on the price. It’s a 6721 model right?

You can get an M-16 carrier for $70 if you think you have to have one, and “fix” the pivot pin for another $20.

It’s a 1/9 barrel. That may or may not be an issue to you…

I decided to pass on the deal. I think I will be happier getting the Noveske
