I ordered a sandman to take care of my 5.56 sbr and my 6.8 sbr.
Deadair 5.56 end caps come out at the end of this month.
The pyro deflector comes out later this spring.
Fyi I believe the omega is only warrantied down to 16" 6.8 spc.
My vote is saker or SF 762 mini
Correct. That’s the only thing that I’m unhappy about with my Omega. Otherwise, I’ve been very happy with mine.
To address the 6.8 SBR issue, I purchased a Rugged Razor. Short, light and tough.

How is the Deadair Sandman L or S for a one over the world Suppressor? In comparison to a Surefire SPS 300?
All 3 are too large for that IMO, I like the Rugged Razor’s spec’s, that’s about as long as I’d want to cover 5.56.
Question guys. Does the larger diameter on the 7.62/.308 cans on a 5.56 sound louder than a 5.56 dedicated can? Just curious coz I have never tried or experienced it. Thanks.

Most cans themselves are the same diameter. Now if you are talking about the actual bore diameter, yes it is bigger, yes it is a little louder, but its hard to tell by ear. My ears can’t really tell the difference, all centerfire, supersonic rifle cartridges are loud.

It depends. Most 7.62 cans are larger in volume to make up for the larger bore. (I.e Saker 556 vs Saker 762). I’ve found 7.62 cans actually sound deeper, and more pleasant.
Now, an example of a SF 556-RC and a 762-mini: the 762-mini will sound louder with 5.56 because they are the same size.
Oh ok domestique thanks for the info. From where I live, we don’t get too many choices. It’s either backyard lathe turned cans which can suppress sound but nothing for accuracy. We get to have some European cans now and then but never the American ones

I was in the same boat as the OP (5.56, 300 blk, .308) and decided on the Saker 7.62 for my first can. The Omega looked really good too but the Saker appeared built for heavier use. I wish I could say how it has performed but it is still in NFA jail. There are a lot of good cans out there and I’m sure you will find one to suit your needs.
Same boat. If NFA wait times trend the same, mine should be released any day. I have 5.56 & .308, and a 300 black build is in my future. While the omega had no clear deficiency, the ruggedness of the Saker sold me. I suspect I’ll be glad I spent the extra bills 20 years from now.
have you had a chance to mount it on any of your rifles yet or play with the MAAD mount at all? I’ve found the more smooth/quiet the MAAD mount, the better that mount is (at least in my example of 2).
Not yet. I’ve got a BE Meyers 249 Saker mount and a trifecta brake. Waiting to have my Tikka T3 lite in 308 threaded for the 5/8x24 trifecta brake.
I’ve lightly coated the outside with permatex 1800 degree silver anti seize (nickel/copper/graphite). I’ll snap a pic tonight. I’m half wondering if some galling is partially the culprit with the trifecta mount.
It could be. But you are having to overcome 3 forces of friction. Internal threads that the mount rotates on its axis with, the LARGE taper of the mating surface, and the spring loaded teeth.
