I need an older style CAR stock in milspec diameter for a rifle of mine and I can’t seem to find them anymore. I used to buy the Stag/CMT units from Rainier, but I believe they discontinued them. Can anybody point me in the right direction to find one? Preferably Colt, I don’t mind paying a premium for it if I can find a good one. Thank you.
www.autoweapons.com, not cheap, yet the real deal Colt, they are NOS, and FWIW, i trust these guys.
I searched the EE on TOS and found one for new in the wrapper for about 120 shipped .it was complete with “H” Buffer . if you search you can find Much better prices .the way I got mine was I went to the “want to Buy” section and posted I needed one and a guy hit me up that had 3 for sell.this was a year ago, But they are still out there .Just be sure that there Is a “N” under the latch.A lot of fakes out there.I would not spend over 150 for one.Good luck on your search If you are looking for just the Stock alone you could find them from 60 and up price sometimes

—SIGH— I actually miss that style of stock. CMMG used to get them from time to time. They used to list them in their bargin bin.

Yeah. You’d think they’d be all over the place with all the homo aftermarket options out there.
I only run the N1 stock on my carbeans. I hate the bulk of the new generation mil stock. And the only aftermarket stock I’d consider is the SOPMOD, but it’s so ridiculously priced, I’ll probably never have one.
I fell for the marketing and I have a SOPMOD stock. Granted I bought it used but at $175.00 for just the stock (that I imagine cost LMT about $20.00 to mold) It still pretty dang expensive.

Don’t get me wrong! That’s the one stock I think I’d like! I don’t think it’s marketing hype. It looks like a great stock.
I just can’t justify the $199 price tag.
KAC makes the SOPMOD stocks for LMT. A lot of stuff people buy isnt made by the company with the logo on the product. In fact there are very few companies that actually produce stuff. Most just assemble parts they bought from a supplier.
The new LMT 308 has me wondering too. For some reason the ambi lower looks very similar to the KAC E3…but maybe Im just reading too much into some pictures.
Anyways if you search the EE here there is a Colt Gen 1 stock for sale…![]()
I agree I got to handle a M4 at FT Knox with the new waffle type 2 stock the M4 that my company was issued was the type 1 with the N1 and I found that I really like the feel of that earlier style.it was easier to to tuck it in the LBV shoulder strap the type 2 had the sling loop that sticks out the bottom and would hang up on the gear all the time,
I’m at the fire house tonight but when I get home I will look I think I have two two or three pos stocks at home. I think they are org Colt car stocks. If so they could be had.
Now I know the reason behind the absurd price. ![]()
LOL ! ! ! Yep Now I understand completely.

All you need is a screwdriver to get rid of that sling swivel. The only thing I don’t like about the newer M4 stock is that it’s so hard to clean inside the little grooves. They are too small to fit a cotton swab into. Other than that, it’s a good stock.

Yeah, it’s a damn shame there aren’t more of them around. I prefer it to just about every stock out there. The top sling loop is nice too, along with it’s overall compact size. I found a guy selling the stock bodies along with Colt A2 grips and Colt M4 handguards. Got a whole set of Colt plastic coming my way :D.
Wow they sure are proud of their stuff over there.
You’re telling me, I got a whole set of carbine furniture for that much money.
Not colt, but it might interest you…
Thanks for the help guys, I got one on the way. Someone told me to give a guy named Dennis Todd a call. I spoke with him the other day and he was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I will post when I receive the items. BTW, is anybody familiar with him, I heard some good things, just thought I’d ask.
