Old School

I sold this AR about 4 years ago…and still regret getting rid of it.

1964 Colt SP-1. It had the Edgewood buffer in it, chrome bolt, solid firing pin retaining pin (that had broken), and was in about 98%-99%, super clean rifle.

All because of your AK habit, right? I keep telling people they are bad for you.

No, no, no… :stuck_out_tongue:

I was just offered a price I couldn’t refuse…but should have now that I look back on it.

You need to post pics of your M-14.

Seriously.

Yeah, no sympathy here for a guy with an M-14 with the “happy switch”!

Damn man, where’s the love??

Katar, here you go…they’re the same old ones, I’ll try to get some better ones.

I too sold a 1974 SP1 about 4 years ago and have regretted it every time I pick up one and drool on that “Old School” rifle.

But yours was even nicer!!! (Feel worse now? :stuck_out_tongue: )

Rmpl

What was the selling price?

Four years ago, $2,000.00.

that actually sounds reasonable for a pre ban Colt during the AWB.

Did I understand you right? Did the crhrome bolt come factory? That must be one of the very first SP1s. I love old school Colts. thanks for sharing.

Yep, factory chrome bolt. Non chromed barrel.

Serial # is under 2000, so yeah, it was a very early one.

That’s exactly why I don’t believe in sellling my guns, only in buying them! Great photos, thanks for sharing them.

Dang, I almost forgot how ugly they were! I wish I had one like it.

I was in VA Arms today and they’ve got one from '65 on consignment that is in perfect condition.

$2000, I would have sold it:D

I don’t shoot my SP-1 all that much, but its one of the last weapons I would want to sell.

I think I’ll have to check it out, thanks for the heads up.

You guy’s are bringing back sad memories!:frowning: Have let 3 SP1’s go over the years.
I’d Love to have 2 of them back. Neither being near as nice or old as Templar’s.:stuck_out_tongue:

Man, talk about memories. I grew up shooting one of those.
