a buddy of mine just gave me the removable carry handle for an M16A4 that he found in a truck he just bought.

I also still have a set of tritium night sights for an AR, but I can’t install them on my SR-15…the rear BUIS is the badass KAC variant.

I figured I would just disassemble the rear sight aperture on the carry handle, install the tritium aperture, reassemble, and hit the range, but I hit a snag.

Just how the hell do you take that rear sight apart? I am not going to break it by beating on it, but the armorer sergeant for my company scoffed at my question and sent me on my way. (bet you he didn’t know how to either.)

all I can tell is the windage wheel on the right has a few tiny holes in them, but I couldn’t guess what they are for.

There is a little roll pin in there.
Don’t remember what the diameter is though.
Punch that pin out until you can pull the adjustment knob off.
There are a spring and little ball bearing on the back side of the knob, so watch out not to lose them.
Unscrew adjustment screw from the left side.
Reverse to reassemble.
Make sure to get the flat spring in under the sight.
