OIS in Illinois: It took 17rds of .45acp to put this perp down!

Pretty amazing what the BG was able to take and keep fighting. It wasn’t until the officer slowed himself down and focused on shot placement that he was able to put the BG down. I can only train and hope that I would do as well.

Great article and good job by the responding officer.

That’s a crazy ammount of hits.

14 non headshots from a 45ACP and the bad guy is still in the fight. Insane. 3 headshots did the trick.

Glad the officer came out on top with no serious injuries.

Big thanks to all our LEOs. Stay frosty boys and girls, make sure you go home safe.

One of Officer Gramins’ bullets appears to have struck the gremlin in the hand and gun; disabling the perp’s back-up pistol.
The bad guy’s Bersa has a .45 jacket lodged in the magazine.

That’s a really good point. In FOF training, I always get shot in the hand. It’s probably because the other person gets gun fixated. A sim round to your trigger finger gets you thinking a lot more than body shots.

Part of it is also that people tend to hold guns center of mass when pointing them at each other.

What?! You mean one .45 round didn’t knock him on his ass and blow a hole in his chest the size of a football??!! No way!

I detect a hint of sarcasm…

Hands, arms, legs, neck; seems to be always the places that arent covered by a IIIa vest or paintball mask. If youre playing the perp, forget about coming home unscathed, as soon as you start shooting everyone in the stack rains fury onto you.

Ouch…

That was one of the better looking ones, looked like I got hit with a cigarette yesterday.

Crazy! Incidents like this are precisely why I switched to 9mm carry guns. More capacity.

It’s common knowledge that one .45ACP to the arm will literally take your arm off.

thanks for the good read.

and because of the massive hydrostatic shock death closely follows even when hit in the finger.

I thought it was 1 hit from a 45 and you were vaporized. Literally just a pair of smoking shoes left…

I’m sure the BG was a fine upstanding law abiding citizen. Another POS coming to the unarmed State of Illinois to conduct his business. I guess he forgot that while us citizens of Illinois can’t carry, the police still can. Glad to know he met up with a well trained officer that was willing to have it out with him, instead of watching the victim list on the local news.

Amen brother. The only people NOT carrying in the Peoples Republik of Illinoiski are the good guys…

And thet just ain’t right.

What? Pistol calibers suck? Shot placement is king?? Who knew!

Time to hit the range and shoot more bullseye targets folks.

C4

I wonder if the officer was loaded with hollow points or ball ammo. Just curious…

This for real sure reinforces shot placement.

The citizen watching this happen and “cheering” the Officer on. Too bad he lives in a fire-arm unfriendly location, otherwise he could done more then just cheer the Officer on.
