Ohio Rapid Fires Krinkov AKSU-74?

I’m think about buying a Ohio Rapid Fire Krinkov AKSU-74 with a fake suppressor, Anyone own one?Anyone heard anything about them? The second part of my question is, Would it be cheaper to to put one together on my own?

I’m VERY apprehensive about rifles built by ORF.

I have no problem buying parts kits from them, but not a built firearm.

It probably would not be cheaper putting one together, but you’d have a better rifle.

Any particular reason?

I’ve heard of too many of their rifles that have issues.

Back in the day ORF used to have a great rep, but there are too many issues not just with their builds, but also with their CNC’d receivers as well.

I don’t know why they went to shit, but they kinda sorta did.

I’m still waiting to cash in my certificate for an RF-5 receiver… I can’t remember how old that piece of paper is…

That being said and completely unrelated to the original question… I’ve heard a few gripes about ORF and their other 74 style rifles they’ve built. Seems that some had rust right from being built.

If you are serious about a Krink I would contact Troy at InRange and ask when he plans on doing another run of Krinks. I know he just finished up or will be finished shortly with a group buy on another forum. He’s got a very good rep and has done lots of work with Krinks.

Spooky

+1…

well that sounds like the best option, do you have the web site or a phone number to get a hold of them?

Here you go:

They (inrange) told me that they weren’t building for a while. I hope that’s wrong and you get your krink built. That sucks about ORF, I was seriously thinking about buying one of their 74’s…

InRange told me the same thing (no current inventory) but that they may have a used 5.45 Krink coming in soon.

The RF-5 certificate! Good times, good times. I’ve seen plenty of problems related on the internet with ORF’s work, along with some foolish antics from the owner.

But the final straw for me was when I signed up for the milled “RF-74” 5.45x39mm receivers ORF was going to make back in '04. I sent in two nice Bulgarian 74 part kits and finally, much later, after many e-mails, got them back built on two of those receivers. Lousy build quality, lots of gaps where the buttstocks mated with the receivers, mag well was way to tight on one, took all my strength to move the selector lever on the other, and I didn’t thnk the park job was all that good either.

To top it off it turned out they were showing one of my kits on the internet as an example of one of these builds. I don’t think they made many of those receivers in the end. I sold them at a significant loss and never looked back. I have seen one of them at Virginia Arms a couple of times since.

Can’t really give any advice on Krinkovs except to say I would be really reluctant to buy an ORF one.

well thanks for the info, now I know.well now my question in where can I get a krinkov aksu 74 with a fake suppressor?

Cody, email sent about the Krink.
