What Ive wondered for years, is if we have this reverse engineered tech from alien spacecraft… when will mankind start reaping the benefits of it? Why cant we now use it, instead of it being holed up in secret in places like Area 51 and such? Why not now give us faster, cheaper forms of energy and transportation if it exists? Why not now, use it openly militarily and show the world what we have and can do?
some of it has come into real life stuff
just melts in with tech and when big advancements are made some say part of that break through might be the reason ?
some stuff might also be so far out there that it cant be used yet because it just makes no sense
imagine going back in time say to the romans and give them a iPad but do it by dropping it out of the sky so someone picks it up and it then becomes secret to just the senate
now what would they think it is ? if it was smashed and broken and did not work
look at that roman cup that had that nano tech in it where the cup would change colors ! pretty advanced thinking really look at old civilizations how they figured out earths movements and skies so perfect and built monuments but did not have simple things like toilet paper ?
so if they got a ipad say the Mayans got ahold of one that fell from the sky what would they think or do with it batteries did not exist the idea of a battery did not exist
glass was known to them was it some kinda adv carving tool ? or something else who knows but they were very advanced for there time but yet a iPad would be so far out
or better yet even a HDD ?
now maybe that made them look at one of those and figure out something as simple as glass could be clear ! or you can make lighter metal and that is what they took from it ![]()
some say its also not that things were so advances all around as more of a AHHHHHH that makes sense moment
makes ya wonder for sure ![]()
I heard some guy on the radio talking about that on the way into work one morning, very early in the morning, 3:00 something. Anyways he was saying they’re satans demons, will bring about one world government, mark of the beast and all that stuff.
I pictured him looking something like this. No offense.
http://ac2012.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/i-dont-know-therefore-aliens.jpg
If there are, and they manage to have the technology to get here, they are going to kick our ass…
They’re there…too much room for nature to waste it all…that’s not the way nature works (as is evidenced by life on earth in pitch black, boiling hot water…miles below sea level)
It is insanely silly, conceited, and arrogant for us to believe we are the only intelligent beings…when I was about 10 years old I caused quite a stir by making that proclamation during Sunday school.
History tells me we’re not as intelligent as we’d like to think we are…at least not as general rule…there are, and always have been exceptions (Einstein, Hawking, Da Vinci, etc.)…but most people are very basic thinkers at best.
Why?
I think a look at our own history could be instructive, here:
Why did we go to China? To trade for silk.
India? Spices.
Africa? Slaves.
America? Gold.
And souls.
The only problem with this is that any civilization that has enough power to travel from one end of the galaxy to the other (let alone the universe) is not going to need any of the resources of our planet. Certainly not when they could get most of them from other, uninhabited planets and not have to worry about the locals.
So what would you do if you had virtually unlimited resources and fantastically advanced technology?
I don’t know about anyone else, but I would want to see the universe. Why? Because I can. Because I don’t need to do anything else and I want to.
If I’m visiting a far distant, primitive civilization, I’d likely camouflage myself. But if the civilization were more advanced, say like ours, I think I might have to moon the locals every now and again, just for the hell of it.
If the civilization launches their first satellite or one of their own into space, you bet your butt I’d follow along to see it. Because that would be awesome - Witnessing the first tentative steps into space of another civilization.
If I see an opportunity to advance an alien civilization through subtlety, perhaps through the introduction or alteration of cultural or religious ideology… I might just do it. And use my fantastically advanced technology to alter the chemical composition of water into wine or do a mass replication of fish and bread. And then I might let their political overlords “kill” me and bury me and then escape some time later. And come back every now and then to check up on things, follow their airplanes and space craft, and maybe moon the locals when I feel like it.
Course, I wouldn’t kidnap any of them. And I certainly wouldn’t do any anal probing. Because that’s just gay.
:nono:
C’mon…Not even a few Orion slave girls?
I believe in UFO’s n the strictest sense of the term. To me that does not me extra terrestrial space craft.
I find some of the stories extremely fascinating. Especially the Bentwaters AFB/Rendelsham forest incident.
I don’t believe for a second that we have captured alien craft at Area 51 that we are reverse engineering.
what about if its parts of something ? pieces of a craft and something they knew came down
and the reverse engineering is again something more simple than we think or so far out we try but cant do it
maybe not as much reverse engineering as trying to understand what we have ? if we have it ![]()
and if a plane crashed and you had some pieces of the skin and some other parts nothing to reverse engineer as much as figure out maybe I dont know for sure about the reverse thing but the craft parts I believe in ![]()
now I am open to say it could be a future craft come back on us ? or could be a accident happened
I dont know if space craft are immune to accidents ![]()
if someone found gorilla glass say 200 years ago when glass was around I think they would understand its glass but most likely try to do something to figure it out and along the way maybe create tempered glass instead ? and that kinda happy accident
so that tempered came from trying to figure out gorilla glass
not saying that is the history more a idea of things
or maybe come up with some kinda synthetic crystal materials etc…
the idea of space and we are the only things in it IMHO is a bit strange
look how far we came in just 200 years now imagine a world who has been where we are now and adv them say 5000 years ?
the one thing that does make me wonder about future is matter ? is all matter throughout the universe the same is there some elements that are not in our system and that is the missing secret holding some back
cause it seems to think is it something we just dont understand or do not have ?
do you think we will find a cure for cancer ever ? or is there a element we are missing ? or is it just time and trying every combination
ironic we still are not %100 sure how many things in history were built lots of great ideas about the pyramids and stuff
look at the growing of human parts that is happening ! look at the recent limb transplants go back just 100 years and look where we were now imagine 1000 years ? lost your hand OK come back next month we will have grown your new one or would you like a generic one we can put on today ? who knows
We always imagine alien species as somehow “like us” for some reason.
Why would you imagine their intelligence and thought processes in any way share any similarity with ours?
Why would you imagine they have any of the same values, motivations or cultural similarities?
The differences between us and an alien species might be greater than the difference between early man and single cell life forms. They might not even notice we exist. We might mean absolutely nothing to them.
It doesn’t have to be a, ‘test plane’. Lots of UAV’s don’t look anything like normal aircraft, especially if there is some kind of active camo (BAE has been working on this for years now).
See, that’s what gets me. The SR-71, supposedly the fastest flying object ever made, was manufactured in the 60’s with 1950’s/early 60’s technology… Similarly we have the F-117… manufactured in the 1980’s with 1970’s technology… I think you get the gist of what I’m saying.
If we have aircraft/UAV’s (and I’d go with UAVs just because computers can take a helluva lot more G’s than us bags of water) capable of doing things like many so-called UFOs can do it makes sense to keep those secrets close.
Because we don’t need it right now. No other nation even comes close to our capabilities even with our public inventory. No reason to let that particular genie out of the bottle until a few other non-so-friendly nations deploy enough fifth-generation fighters to actually cause air superiority concerns.
You let them (other nations) know you have XYZ tech it does a couple things:
-That XYZ tech is actually possible (one of the harder parts about science is figuring out if something can be done; if you know it can it’s a lot easier…)
-They will begin to develop (or attempt to develop) countermeasures before you even get a chance to use it.
Showing your full hand is never a good idea militarily.
again pilots are not stupid
they know what things are
something that makes no sense would make no sense
now could the piper cub pilot see something sure
could the commercial pilot see something ? sure could happen but rare
most test things you think a pilot would confuse often are not being tested 1500 miles from mainland US ! out in the middle of the oceans ! or put into the path of commercial airlines at the altitude
and when many military pilots have things happen on a mission or doing other things then you have to wonder more
when you are in a jet and something takes off away form you at speeds that no jet could do ?
you are in the latest jet and something tracks you for a bit and then disappears into the horizon ? or maneuvers in such a way that is impossible as we know it
are UAV larger than commercial aircraft and 10x as fast ?
again way to many things to just discount them to OH UAV or pilot is stupid and did not see it
I do know a lot of things being seen are not alien UFOs and are UAV etc…
but some are not of this world for sure those are rare though
and a military pilot wont start a web page over it either ![]()
a commercial pilot wont or they loose there job most likely being called crazy
but we know the gov would never try to cover anything up or lie about things they might have or do and they would never discredit people to protect it
Interesting idea to be sure. We are still talking about performance that defies the known physical laws that no NASA engineer or physicist, etc can explain, and they have been doing it when we were flying prop planes around. But who knows, maybe some are indeed our best tech (partly reversed engineered from UFOs?) zipping around too.
Could be a combination any number of things.
Nope. I’ve seen that episode of Enterprise. It’s not as cool as it would seem.

I just assume that logic works for “them” the same as it does for us.
There isn’t much of a logical reason to explore other civilizations, except because you want to, is there?
There is really almost nothing to be gained by exploring them. Unless you want to see what they’re like. Or you want to conquer them. Or you want to trade with them (but what would you want to trade? If you can travel between stars, what resources could you possibly want or need that a civilization that can barely sustain launching the intergalactic equivalents of rafts?). And if you have the ability to violate the laws of physics as we know them, why couldn’t you be completely invisible?
So there is little or no logical need. That leaves desire. Which is fully my own and is just one of many theories that fit the facts surrounding UFOs and alleged alien encounters.
Of course, that assumes that it’s at all about us. It could just be that our solar system is located in the interstellar equivalent of a ditch running alongside a major thoroughfare and all we’re seeing are the cars that accidentally run off the road and into the ditch.
(This all, of course, assuming that it is aliens.)
Recently while on a trip to Yellowstone 3 of us saw two crazy fast objects zig-zaging, then stopping suddenly and one shot straight up and the other hovered there for a while and then continued on. There were 2 visible passenger jets that night. They were about 20x slower than these 2 lights. Crazy… First time I have ever seen such a thing ![]()
To me the idea that we reverse engineered our technology from aliens is difficult to accept on two levels:
One is that it is like the idea that aliens built the pyramids or that Bush was behind 9/11. In essence, you take the wondrous, miraculous (and often terrible) things we human beings can do and say that is so incredible that we could never make it work on our own, we must have had help. From aliens, from the government, whatever.
(I suppose that could be interpreted as a form of flattery, though. It says something about the industriousness of Egyptian slaves and the intelligence of Egyptian architects that some people refuse to believe that they were capable of building the pyramids and must have had help from aliens.)
The second one is, to borrow an example from earlier in this thread, if you took a C-130 and crash landed it so hard that the crew died… in say ~250 BC. What technologies would or could the locals possibly derive from it, even if you put the wreckage in front of somebody like Archimedes?
You might get something useful if you put a mostly functional C-47 in front of Leonardo da Vinci. But only because he already understood the principals at work (lift, internal combustion, &c.), he just didn’t have the technology to utilize them fully. Which would still be the sticking point in getting a 15th Century heavier-than-air flying machine working, even with a C-47 to work from.
And crash-landing an F-15 is not going to help them (Archimedes or da Vinci) make propeller-driven aircraft.
“Need” is a tricky term.
To further art and culture? Programmed biologically to be curious (space cats)? Maybe other species can be extremely tasty? To hunt us like Predator? Religious reasons? To make a zoo? Because we are in the way of a major highway? Because we’re close by and have liquid water and resources besides raw elements?
There are tons of reasons why another species could visit us or willfully stay away from us, even if they had access to relatively cheap space travel and the means to get here in a trivial amount of time. And the ability to travel faster than light does not mean they can break every law of physics. Being completely invisible generally means you start to overheat very very quickly because you have no way to remove heat from your closed system without breaking your invisibility by definition.
All very valid points. Never been a big fan of the reverse engineering theories personally. My guess is, the only thing we may be able to make use of from a crashed UFO might be in material sciences.
But, it’s also claimed there’s fully functional craft captured, but again, if we handed a fully functional F15 to a tribe in the Amazon, what would they do with it?
All interesting speculation I find. The only thing I’m 98% convinced of at this time is, there’s objects flying around in our airspace that is not weather balloons, commercial jets, swamp gas, etc, and some of it (due to the performance) unlikely to be black project stuff either.
WTF is it? I don’t know. Using reductionist logic does bring us to some obvious possibilities. ![]()
We do know for example the U2 was spotted as a UFO back int he day when it was still a secret project, so clearly some UFO sightings are indeed our own tech.
I just don’t think all of it is. For example, this is one of the more compelling and fully verified experiences with multiple highly experienced witnesses and hard radar contact from mil base, etc:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uh5IKmWDmHk
If that don’t convince people, nothing will…
Like I said: Mooning people.
