ODIN Works XMR

I just got back from shooting my AR for the first time that I could reach the mag release without adjusting my grip on the gun. I have about a half inch missing from my trigger finger and I never could reach the normal button.

I suck at taking pictures but I just wanted let guys with modified fingers or people with small hands a heads up on this cool button extention.

I like the grooves ODIN machined into the face and they even have the face angled a little. This thing works very smooth and does not bind at all.

I have seen guys complaine about how the button extention wiggles and the new button must be under sized. This is not true, I measured my normal mil spec button and it was .005’’ thiner across and .008’’ shorter in height. The mill spec button wiggles more then the ODIN button, but with the added length of the extention it just seems worse.

I give the ODIN Works XMR and 10 out of 10 and will never do without one in the future.

Tom makes good parts, and is always thinking of new stuff to add.

I have one of his XMR’s and it rubs a little on my billet lower but works as intended.

When you lay the rifle down on a flat surface with the XMR side down, does the button contact the surface? I am looking at it, and my best guess is that the fence alone would prevent an accidental magazine release, if not the brass deflector, but it’s nice to get confirmation from someone who has one.

You are right, I just layed it down on my table and the XMR had 1/4’‘-3/8’’ clearence.

Thanks for the confirmation!

One more thing I’d like to add is that I have heard guys say that the new button is undersized and that makes the XMR wiggle.

Well I got the digital calipers out and the new mag button was .005’’ wider and .008’’ taller then the mil spec button. It fits slightly tighter in the hole but I guess since the XMR is long that is why it wiggles and guys think it’s undersized. There is nothing tight or wiggle free with the mil spec button, it just doesn’t have a long peice to grab ahold of to move it.
