Octane pistol to Carbine tips

I have an Octane 45 I use on my pistols.

I only have threaded barrels on 9mm pistols.

I have a 1/2 x 28.

I have a new 9mm Carbine but it has 5/8 x 24.

I know there are some new can inserts. I know I can put an adapter on the Carbine.

Is anyone here familiar with the company’s options so I can just put my can on between pistol and carbine rapidly?

If it was me, I’d buy a 5/8-24 piston and a fixed barrel spacer.

There’s no “quick” way to do it because you have to get rid of the spring when swapping to the carbine. Might as well change the piston at the same time instead of using an adapter. I prefer the piston/FBS instead of the fixed mount because it keeps the booster cage cleaner.

Damage to the threads on the host weapon and/or baffle strikes. That’s the main concerns with using a Nielsen device on a fixed barrel.

A 45 caliber can on two different 9mm then. You’d think there would be enough clearance to keep the Neilson device spring installed but I’m not sure I’d chance it. Time for another gun or another can, or both.

I have a YHM 9mm Wraith that I’ll be moving back and forth between pistol and PCC but my M9A3 doesn’t need a spring on it’s suppressor.

I mainly use the suppressor on my Berettas,
I can get a direct thread insert from silencerco.

My old bower can is ginormous, but the Octane should be fairly quick.

For a silencer being swapped between pistols and rifles, I’d recommend a fixed barrel spacer over a fixed mount.
