I’m sure Neville Chamberlain thought he was “earning a little trust” by handing Hitler the Sudatenland too…
i’m sorry, but you’ve GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME

You know, its almost at the point where we need one of these turd world countries to nuke something.
We will finally be able to say ‘I told you so’, stop dicking around and go full tilt on these guys. Sad as it is to I think a nuke going off is what it will take to wake some of our citizens into reality.
Sadly, they’re gettin’ there… and that IS what’ll take. And they’ll probably nuke AMERICA first.
If Iran can be trusted to enrich Uranium (and we all know why they are doing it) then I should be “trusted” to carry a gun anywhere I want to, any time I want to. After all, I have a hell of a lot better record than the Iranian government.
And another sigline is born.
This coming from a man who “envisions a world without nuclear weapons”. What a damn fool.
Maybe the Dope In Chief (DIC) should just let the Iranians open a new embassy up in the White House. Perhaps their ambassador could sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom.
That would earn some “trust.”
I know I’m going to be flying against the grain here…but Iran doesn’t bother me. I really doubt that they’re prepared to have their entire country turned into glass by attacking America or Israel.
I think they view it as their golden ticket for money/respect from the west. Considering our track record they’d be correct too.
If we’re worried about nukes falling into the hands of terrorists we should be worried about the thousands of poorly secured and poorly accounted for nukes in the ex Soviet states.
I agree. However, the bigger and most pressing issue is who are they willing to sell their man-portable Nukes to?
Any nuclear weapon can be traced back to its origin as the isotopes involved have a distinct signature that point out source of origin.
The first question is whether the world/US would respond to a nuking of Tel Aviv by Iran/other by a retaliatory strike. The second is whether Iran would let that stop them.
I’m skeptical on both counts.
This act of incredible ignorance will cost many their lives.
Dead on brother.
When is the joke over? I keep waiting for someone to come around the corner and yell “GOT YOU AMERICA!! Here is your real President!”…
Now they can do whatever they want. Oh wait, they already do whatever they want.
this!
NooooooO!!!Cause that would mean it’s the responsible citizen gun owners fault. Cause they flood other countries with munitions!!!
That motherfucking twelver doesn’t care about retaliation. He believes he’s got divine intervention on his side. He can’t be trusted at all.
I can’t think of a single historical example of where appeasement applied as a strategy was successful.
It certainly hasn’t worked with North Korea. Didn’t we earn their trust while feeding them and helping them with their nuclear power plants? Someone already mentioned Neville Chamberlain’s use of appeasement with Germany prior to World War II.
Can anyone think come up with an example where appeasement was successful?
I think we are at a point in history that is much scarier than the Cold War.
Up is down and down is up.
You know I’ve thought that very thing myself. I just managed to catch the tail end of the cold war and had always thought that the threat of MAD only worked because the US and the USSR were more or less run by intelligent people who didn’t really want their countries blown off the face of the earth.
I’m not so sure about this anymore. Our government is NOT being run by people with intelligence as their primary asset and the countries most likely to become nuclear threats have religious fervor behind them and their own destruction will only mean they’ll be bedding the virgins that much sooner.
We can’t negotiate on our terms with cultures who don’t share our terms and mores. It’s not possible. What we see as reasonable and just doesn’t translate to these countries.
Our leader is a coward who thinks talking to a bully will accomplish something and that violence is never a solution. Just look at the conditions he set for rescuing our citizen from Somali pirates, where they could only be engaged if the Captain’s life was immediately threatened. ROE should never be set by a President, but by the Commander on the ground.
