A new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report reveals that President Barack Obama has attended only 42.1% of his daily intelligence briefings (known officially as the Presidential Daily Brief, or PDB) in the 2,079 days of his presidency through September 29, 2014.
The GAI report also included a breakdown of Obama’s PDB attendance record between terms; he attended 42.4% of his PDBs in his first term and 41.3% in his second.
The GAI’s alarming findings come on the heels of Obama’s 60 Minutes comments on Sunday, wherein the president laid the blame for the Islamic State’s (ISIS) rapid rise squarely at the feet of his Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
“I think our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” said Obama.
According to Daily Beast reporter Eli Lake, members of the Defense establishment were “flabbergasted” by Obama’s attempt to shift blame.
“Either the president doesn’t read the intelligence he’s getting or he’s bullshitting,” a former senior Pentagon official “who worked closely on the threat posed by Sunni jihadists in Syria and Iraq” told the Daily Beast.
This man has literally pissed all over the sacrifices of our nations finest young men, he has drifted well beyond the pale of any acceptable conduct native to the position of President…
Based on what Obama seems to do when active, it’s probably best for everyone if he is as INactive as possible.
He’s the figurehead but I don’t think he’s making many of the decisions. My 2 cents. Perhaps we should be thankful that the fraud is being fully exposed through blatant lack of caring by the fraudsters.
In his defense I would be hard to find to if I was the worst president ever, my body guards were randomly turning off door alarms and people made a game of jumping over my fence and running around my house waving a knife…
with Obama pointing fingers at his own Director of National Intelligence James Clapper for the rise of ISIS, the question remains whether a 42% attendance record on daily intelligence briefings is good enough for most Americans.
I wonder if Clapper will step up with the figures and information that he made available after they get the Bus off of his back?
My guess is that Clapper bitched to the O raising that particular statistic and then O walked back the criticism of him. As always; “I didn’t know anything about it till I read it in the New York Times”.
Clapper comming out in public with such figures along with dates of briefings and whom was in attendance and a general idea of what was being covered (nothing OPSEC, just dates and points of discussion) would shatter the whole idea of this guy ever having a noble legacy.
At anyrate I’m fairly certain his (POTUS) actions, or lack there of, are past the line of bumbling incompetence. His indifference towards his wartime CIC duties is intentional. As such who stands to gain the most from it? Hint, it’s not the U.S. …
You can never go wrong underestimating the intelligence or attention span of the general public.
I would like to see Clapper, who at this point has little of anything left of a career after his present duties are finished, do a little payback. Something along the lines of what the Benghazi Contractors are doing. A nice long interview, some Sunday Morning News Shows and begin looking for someone to write a book with.
Imagine how infuriated you would be if your son or daughter made the ultimate sacrifice in the clandestine services for a scrap of information just to be ignored by this reprobate . . .
