I think it is all bluster. He doesn’t have the votes even among Dems to pass this. He is back to campaigning, the only thing he knows how to do (with a teleprompter). Passing this monstrosity of health care regulation and cost will terminate the careers of many Dems. They all know it. Pelosi, Reed and Obama are asking fellow Dems to apss it and suffer the consequences so at least their leaders can claim a victory. The leaders could give a rip about their fellow Dem congressmen.
The economy is already sabotaged, so we are in for a world of hurt anyway. I wish Wash DC would take a four year sabbatical and leave us peasants alone.

I almost couldn’t watch it. Lies, incomplete truth’s, and misleading comments are strewn throughout this speech. Anyone else at the point where it’s hard to even listen to this guy? Even if it’s to understand what they’re trying to do to our country?

I think it will pass. They’ve put all of their eggs in one basket and aren’t about to let them go to waste. This bill is supposed to be his legacy; if it fails, he has failed… they’ll be pulling out all of the stops for this one.

I remember back during the election all these people claiming he wasnt a radical and blah blah blah. They stuck their head in the sand, and now get to reap the consequences of their votes.
This isn’t going to get repealed. The welfare and entitlement spending has never been repealed, and either is this. Its just going to be another card in the deck…SS, medicare, medicaid, SCHIP, food stamps, grants for this and that, EPA, NEA, et al…they never get repealed.
Obama’s dream is to institute universal health care in this country, and he isn’t going to let the republicans or the American people get in his way. No matter how low and how dirty he has to go to get there he will try. Like he said…the people will decide how they like it during the elections. He could give a fuck less what we think. People like him (including Pelosi and Reid) have the deep belief they are smarter than everyone else, and we are just dumb for not wanting their programs. They think we are just scared but once their plans go into effect we will be “enlightened”, and be thankful for what they are doing now even though 2/3rds are against it. We just haven’t seen the light yet.
