So I’ve been shooting a while. Not a marksman but I can hit a target with irons within reason. Would like to get some optics though as the eyes aren’t as sharp as they used to be.
I only know of two good optics that have short eye relief: Trijicon TA31 and the Leupold CQT and both were issued to ntch trained grunts. The ta31 is great except the price. And the cqt is great except the sheer size for its low magnification.
Wondering if you guys knew of any others, with higher magnification or decent size and price.
I have my leupold 1-4x on a cantilever mount halfway on my hand guard with ntch.
You could probably look at one of the other prism optics available, like the Vortex Spitfire and the Primary Arms Compact Prism Scope. Both are much less expensive than an ACOG yet require the same type of NTCH shooting as an ACOG.
I agree with Wolf, don’t limit yourself to short eye relief options. You can always mount the optic further forward on the receiver, or get a cantilever mount. I have a TR24 that I have slowly moved further and further forward in its mount as I have come closer and closer to shooting NTCH.
