I have saved up enough money to buy a premium AR rifle. I want to know of the Noveske and Colt which is the best buy for my dollar? I am only able to get one AR at this time and want to get the best “bang” for my buck. I have heard good thing about the Noveske and the Colt. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
What is with all the “vs.” threads? ![]()
You might be better off with a Noveske N4 vs. KAC SR15.
It’s the inevitable spill over of nonsense from TOS?![]()
Guys, go easy.
If someone doesn’t have a wide knowledge base and is looking to get a good system, but doesn’t have a lot of money to make the mistakes/purchases that we have and learned from, then it’s a natural point to ask about.
Bottom line Nightfighter is that you’d be fine with either one, which I know isn’t helping a lot, but should put your mind at ease that whichever one you get, you’ll be ok.
The Colt is is a known quantity, and if you have a well stocked store in your area, you can inspect before purchase.
I’m really wanting to try one of the N4 uppers from Noveske. But you surely can’t go wrong with a Colt.
Me too. I think my next upper is going to be one of the basic N4 light uppers.
To the OP: Are you comparing a Colt 6920 with a Noveske N4 ‘light’ carbine?
I have no experience with the Noveske, but it appears to have all of the desirable features one wants for a reliable AR. The Colt is widely used and proven, and I’m not sure you’re going to find anyone that wouldn’t recommend a 6920 for a fighting gun.
On the other hand, the Noveske is a comparable price, yet comes with a much more useful Troy BUIS. Unless you want to chop the Colt carry handle (making essentially an LMT style, fixed BUIS), you’d need to to buy a BUIS if you wanted to run optics on a 6920.
The Noveske also comes with a Vltor modstock, if that matters to you.
The N4 is about $150 more than what I see 6920s going for, and if you factor in the stock, sight and TD grip (assuming that you like those features) it’s a bargain.
If you factor in the BUIS that everyone ends up getting when they pull off their carry handle, its about even with the pricing. The Vltor Stock, TD grip, better grade of barrel steel, and heavy chrome lining are all extras that put the plus in the Noveske column in my book.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my Colts, and have no problems with stating that they are very high quality.
Noveske Basic N4 Carbine with Gear Sector GS-2P sling.
We’re on the same page. I keep saying that if Noveske would just make an 11.5" N4 and a 16" midlength N4 I would be all over one of each and sell all my Colts to get them.
As previously mention both companies offer superior quality products, but the bottom line is you get more bang for your buck with Noveske.
Good stuff, I’m patiently awaiting the release of a stand alone N4 barrel, no upper, handguard, etc…
Would love to be able to build one into my own configuration.
Noveske
Better service
Better custom options
In my opinion, Colt quality is good, but not exceptional
The 2nd Amemndment shines a little brighter from Grants Pass IMO and I support that big time.
After talking with John, you are probably in for a very long wait.
Eloquently stated.
Thanks to everyone for their input. Really helped me out alot since I am going to buy only one AR style rifle.
Suuuuurre you are. ![]()
They are kind of addicting…I can almost guarantee that you’ll end up with at least a couple. ![]()
Well I sort of like where they are putting their cross now. I don’t quite see the point though unless they are all placed in a different spot so that it truly keeps uppers and lowers “matched.”
I tried having separate uppers for certain things. New lowers somehow keep finding their way on them.
What can I do?
It designates complete factory weapons, not individual components. Anyone who wants to order a rifle rack full of Noveske weapons could probably make a special request though…
