Does anyone know if Noveske, Rainier Arms, or maybe someone else will sell a complete upper with VTAC Handguards already installed?
Out of stock last I checked. I was thinking of calling to see if they had an idea of how long that will last…

Give Noveske a call to see if they can install the 9" VTAC rail on the Basic Recce for you. Rainier Arms should be able to do it as long as they have it in stock.
We changed to the Troy VTAC Extreme rail on our VTAC line.
There are a couple of 14.5" with FSB with the old 7" JP VTAC tubes. You will have to give us call, they are not online.

Anyone else running the VTAC from Noveske? I have one at home in 16 inch and have been looking for an optic don’t know if I am going to run a 1-4x24 or put on another eotech. I have an eotech on the 14.5inch one already.
I am currently running an older style (JP handgaurd) Noveske/VTAC upper and like it very much. It’s a 14.5 (Afghan) with a mid length gas system. Approx round count is 1500 and is über reliable. No issues.
Just out of curiosity, what is the appeal of the regular vtac handguards? They seem to me like they are heavy AND don’t offer the advantage of having railspace like a quad rail.

I like the durability and simplicity of the JP version. I only run a light and stubby VFG on it. I like simple and the set up seems to adhere to that. I did have a Larue 9 inch on my old upper that Grant built back in the day, and it was pretty heavy. I don’t know the exact weights of each.
Cool, I was just curious. I appreciate the response… Have you looked at the troy alpha rails? (replacement for the TRX) The have a new, sturdier attachment system that uses the standard barrel nut, if you want to save some weight.
I have used a full length Free Float tube with Rails on all four sides, I have learned that I don’t use all of the rails and have to add covers, the rails and covers add weight. I like the VTAC troy rails, they are smaller in circumference and I can put the rails where I need them and take them off if I don’t need them. All I am using these days is a Troy shorty grip and surefire scout light on a 13 inch rail.
I had a vtac forearm and felt it was not as sturdy as I wanted. It did not break or anything, I just like stuff rugged.
