noveske/sws ff rail alignment?

From what i can tell, the rail is only held to the weapon via screws on the left and right sides and the bottom, attaching it to the barrel nut. How is the rail located? What I mean is, wouldn’t screw tension cause it to shift left or right, or up and down or is it a nearly interference fit with the barrel nut?

The length of the barrel nut and tight fit to the rail is one of the strong points of the rail we use.

Thanks. So if I remove.the rail for whatever reason after zeroing the buis, should I expect to be within moa or so of on when I replace the rail?

I believe that’s unreasonable but in my experience when re installing rails of various manufacture they seem to be pretty close when I re zero after re assembly. FWIW I’d guess most are within 1 inch at 25 (4MOA).

I can’t say that your sights will stay zeroed, the rail isn’t designed to be removed for regular maintenance so it’s not something we have tested. I do think it should do better than most other rail designs because of the longer barrel nut.

Don’t the factory Noveske uppers incorporate anti-rotation tabs to interface the VLTOR MUR upper with the SWS/Noveske rail?

Yes, but this would not account for .01" shift left/right from screw tension/more or less screw being threaded on one side than the other, etc.
