Noveske roll-mark question

Historically Noveske has placed an engraving of their logo across the seam between upper and lower receivers on the right side for the purpose of distinguishing them as a complete factory rifle rather than one assembled from parts.

I just received a new Noveske light Recce w/VIS upper from them and I note that it has no such mark.

Does Noveske not put that cross-seam logo on their rifles that have a VIS upper?

Mostly I’m just curious. So far Im assuming they skip that step on the VIS uppers because there is no good place to put it due to the shape.

I asked this question after receiving a MUR uppered SwitchBlock Recce LoPro early last year.

You are correct, they only do/did this when using mil spec forged uppers.

What I do not know is if they still do the upper/lower combo that just went on sale, or on the “basic” models.

i heard they dont do this anymore. due to cost effect.

i got my LOW-PRO around jun 2010.

It is no longer done.

No, both the upper and the lower of the matched set are Noveske logo-marked, but not the single mark that goes across the seam.

On the Light Recce Basic w/VIS I just got, the upper is Noveske-marked, but I guess because it’s a VIS, it’s not marked across the seam either.

As opposed to this for non-VIS, non-MUR, complete Noveske rifles.

Noveske stopped putting their “cross” logo on the seam around February. They said it was costing them too much, so now they mark each upper and lower separately.

I got my Light RECCE in March and its not marked.
