noveske nsr rail covers

was wondering if the noveske nsr rail covers will work with another brand modular rail system. i have a midwest industries gen 2 ss hand rail and was wanting to put the nsr covers on it. anyone know for sure?

not unless it’s a keymod system.

not exactly sure what a key mod system is. well i do but the one on my mi seems to be quite a bit longer

It’s the proprietary system that is utilized by the NSR for attaching accessories, such as the rail covers you’re asking about.

the mi is a proprietary system but does not mean that the nsr’s will work.

I could be wrong, but I would be very surprised if the NSR rail covers would go on another manufacturer’s rail system.

thats what i’m afraid of. they are awesome rail covers

I think you are completely missing peoples posts.

The NSR uses a very unique attachment method(“keymod system”), because of this, the rail covers you are asking about will only work on the Noveske NSR rail/tube. The short answer to your question is no.

I’m sure someone will figure out how to rig them for other tubes soon enough.

To the OP if you want something similar get some .093 or thicker kydex and a heat gun and go to town cutting and molding your own. Just figure out an attachment method, then stipple to your hearts content.

the keymod system refers to a specific system developed by vltor and noveske. it’s not the same as slots:

Just for kicks and giggles I took out my gun spare parts tool box while at the range Tuesday. I took out an NSR panel and tried it on my buddies BCM that hadthe same M.I. handguard you mentioned.

No way. The slots on the M.I. are just barely wider than the ‘ears’ on the back of the NSR panel. Even if you did put them on and rigged up something to keep them from sliding back and forth in the handguard slots there isn’t enough surface area on the back of the panel to hold them on securely.

I wish that NSR rail covers were available without the handstops included (perhaps they are, if so, someone have a link?)

As is stands I bought a couple packages from Rainier to cover more slots. So, if anyone needs spare NSR handstops, I have them…

I’m going to take you up on that. PM sent…

It would cost about as much to package and stock multiple items. So it’s like getting the handstops free, and we hope more dealers will stock it by not needing to order a bunch of different part numbers.

I can understand that. However, buying multiple sets to cover a single forend still leaves me with multiple stuff that I don’t need. That said, I see this is as an issue which will rather quickly end as the NSR takes off due to more aftermarket support (and it’s not like the rail cover/handstop sets cost very much anyhow).

and PM replied. On the way come Monday.
