Noveske MK18 Build Help

I have a bare slate Noveske MK18 with an AAC M4 2000:

10.5" Cold Hammer Forged 5.56mm Barrel
–Made of Mil Spec M249 Machine Gun barrel steel, with heavy M249 Chrome Lining,
(appx. 2 times as thick as an M4 or M16)
–Extended Feed Ramps
–MP HP tested with certification
–1 in 7" twist
–Mil Spec Phosphate finish
–Carbine length gas system
–1/2x28 threads
–Pinned Low-Profile Gas Block
–Flat-top upper receiver
–DD MK18 Rail
–Shot peened and MP tested bolt
–Auto carrier with properly staked carrier key
–Forged charging handle
–A2 Flash Suppressor

Rifle includes above plus:
–Forged Lower with:
–Mil-Spec receiver extension
–Noveske QD End Plate, staked
–H2 Buffer
–Vltor iMOD Carbine Stock
–Tango Down pistol grip
–One 20 rd mag included

I will need sights optics etc. This is my first build so I am looking for recommendations on upgrading parts. Charging handle…

I think I would run at least an H3 buffer and a blue Springco spring. I am 99% certain it will work. Another option is the Vltor A5 set up.

I run my suppressed 11.5" and 12.5" with it.

Instead of a standard charging handle I would get the BCM Gunfighter. Get a BCM BCG instead of separate bolt and carrier.

If you are looking at optics you can’t go wrong with an Aimpoint T1 or M4S.

Any thoughts about a light or sling? What are you using this for?

I will be using it for the range mostly. I have a surefire X300 already. If you could send me some links to some of the upgrades I would be thankful.

Does the M4-2K mount to the A2 FH? I thought they were QD. Sounds like a nice build.

Are you building a rifle to these specs or just buying the complete upper/rifle from Noveske? If you are buying a complete MK18 upper or rifle from Noveske, it will already come with a BCM Gunfighter charging handle (complete with Noveske logo). If you plan on running suppressed with the M42K, you might want a PRI Gasbuster or perform one of the gas buster mods on the included charing handle.

I don’t believe the MK18 comes from Noveske with a BUIS. If you’re aiming towards authenticity, the original KAC BUIS is the way to go, but they are pricey. I’ve come to like the KAC Micro BUIS and run them on my build. Troy sights are practically the industry standard (and are found on most Noveskes) and would also work well.

Personally, I like to use a single point sling with my Noveske MK18 upper. The Gear Sector ASP single point works perfectly with the Noveske QD endplate. Aimpoint T-1 in a LaRue mount is a terrific optic for any rifle, but I think is just about perfect for SBRs.

Not to my knowledge. The ones I’ve handled (only a few) mount up to the 51T Blackout or Brakeout.

Congrats on a great rifle. Noveske uses quality components - I wouldn’t be in a rush to swap anything out.

I’d say a sling, optic and irons and you’re ready to go.

I assumed that this was some type of build the way you laid it out. I would check with Noveske as to whether or not you will be able to mount an AAC M4-2000 on this upper with the correct suppressor mount.

You can easily Google everything that has been mentioned to find the parts you need.

A friend of mine has this exact same Noveske Mk18 upper…and it mounts an AAC M4-2000 just fine.

I know you can order it from Noveske with the 51T brake/hider on it. Maybe thats what he did?

When you purchase an M4 2k, it comes with a Blackout flash hider. I recommend a Breakout with such a short barrel.

To my knowlege, the MK18 bought standard from Noveske (without any upgrades) does not come with the Gunfighter CH…it comes with the standard.

Being that the barrel is 10.5" and not 10.3", you would be able to mount an M4-2000 using the brake, brakeout, or blackout. I would recommend either of the first two, especially if you plan to shoot mostly suppressed.

ETA: It also comes with the A2, not the Blackout mount.

My dealer has sold M4 2ks with blackouts as long as I have known they existed.

When is the last time you bought one?

I haven’t seen anyone in the past year selling M4-2ks with mounts.

I should not have said incorrect, I should have said it is not common.

When I pulled the trigger on my Mini4 on August 14th, I was asked to consider the M4 2k instead because it would have cost me the same for the Mini4 and a Blackout (not included) as the M4 2K with included Blackout. Since I already had 2 Breakouts and a Blackout installed on my rifles, I didn’t care that the Mini4 didn’t come with ah Blackout.

Well, the Noveske MK18 upper that I bought came with a Gunfighter. FYI - believe the Gunfighter is now standard equipment on Noveske rifles per below…

As stated…I believe the Noveske barrels are 10.5" In any case…the back of the can comes pretty close to the rail…but fits on just fine with just a bit of room to spare.

As for M4-2000’s coming with mounts…They used to…but since a year or so ago…new cans do not come with a mount.

This does not necessarily mean that there are not any dealers left out there that still have suppressor/mount combos still in stock that they ordered in before AAC stopped offering them together.
