I’ve been lusting after a Crusader for a while now… What’s been the feedback on the 12.5" vs. the 10.5"? I had the pleasure of playing with a 10.5" a few weeks back, but have yet to get my hands on the 12.5".
What I have seen with the builds I have done, is that this barrel length is a good idea. It is still compact, but has the better FPS for longer fragmentation.

I have the feeling I’m going to eventually skip right past the Crusader and move to something stupidly short, and a twin with a 16" instead…we’ll see.
Just when I have all but decided to go with a BCM build you go and post pictures and a build like that. How much would a Crusader, MUR, Lite 10.0 and Surefire 556-212A spec’d upper run me? Dang that’s nice.

With your help I built this upper. The only difference I went with 11" LaRue and Vltor V1C.
Is it just me or does DD change the way they drill their Lite rails all the time?
I have 2 12.0 lite rails that have all four sides drilled, a 10.0 that has the top and sides drilled, and it appears in the pictures that grant posted that his rail has the holes through the top and bottom and the side rails are solid…

I noticed in your pics of the Crusader SS bbl, that the Noveske etching/lettering on the bbl still shows through the Gunkote.
I would not think this would have been the case.
That is cool, and almost makes me want to attempt to Gunkote some uppers/rails I have, which I have left “as-is”, because I didn’t want to lose the nice white laser etched words/logos on them.
Does this mean the white laser etching on something like a KAC URX rail, or something like the white etching on a VLTOR MUR would still show through a Gunkote finish, just as was the case on the bbl you have pic’d?
It all depends on how heavily you put the paint on.

It’s a LaRue 10", and an AAC M4-2000.
I may try the new Troy TRX Extreme 11" on it if the weight savings vs the LaRue are significant. It’s a pretty stout barrel for an SBR.
