noveske and changing out handguards

I have a Noveske N4 Lite 16inch basic. I was thinking about changing out the handguards so I can attach a light to it. Do I need to order them from Noveske for it to fit right?

Nope, all AR handguards fit all others, as long as they are the same length.

hammer pair

get Daniels Defense Omega rails.

don’t put plastic railed handguards on a N4.

perhaps consider Troy Industries or at the very least YHM…but plastic is a no-go. DD Omega is the way to go IMO

with a N4 16" middie you will want 9.0 rails.

Another option would be the DD Lite Rail. I have the 7” Lite Rail on my 6920 and it weighs less than the Colt factory plastic hand guards. It is a very solid system. The Omega is very easy to install so it does have that advantage. Either way you will be good to go. There are many good options with rail systems, I think it is safe to say that you get what you pay for.

Thanks guys. I ordered the DD Omega 9" rail. Then I will buy locally a light for it.

How much do the plastic hand guards weigh that come with the 6920?

With some rail systems, you are removing the Delta ring assembly and barrel nut, which also add into the overall weight.

I have my omega rail installed. I guess it doesn’t come with a swivel mount, but a place to put the mount on?

Also it came three plastic (inserts?). Or they supposed to snap on easy? And I take it, this is to reduce a little heat?

they’re rail covers. stretch and bend them a bit. they’ll go on. they are mostly to reduce the cheese grater effect

and yeah, the holes are limited travel quick detach swivel mounts. the swivels are cheap. i prefer Vltor, but Uncle Mikes works too.

theres nothing wrong with Troy rails. i have the MRF-DI on my AR15 and they’ve been nothing but great.

plus, they’re half the price of the DD omega rail

Um, somebody correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t the N4 light basic a carbine length gas system?

Edit: NVM I missed the 16" part.
