Im on the fence and cant decide if I want to go with 10.5 inch or 12.5 inch. Open to suggestions and why I should go that route. Im about to click the purchase button in about 3o mins, hopefully you guys can help with my decision.
Wow lots to consider on this one. I have the same debate and decided on the 10.5 because I want to mount a suppressor. The 10.5 with an AAC M4 2000 gives you about the same overall length as a 16inch barrel with a flash hider attached. You could go 12.5 and mount the SPR M4 but now you are pushing the length out to around 18.5 inches (off the top of my head so +/- a little). If I wasn’t planning on a suppressor I would say the 12.5 is a no brainer. You gain a lot IMHO from that 2.5 inches of extra barrel.
Also, if you are still active don’t buy by clicking on the website! Give them a call, they give a 10% discount to military which is a good chunk of change off a 1200+ dollar upper. Worth buying the troy BUIS from them as well if you run those. They are Noveske marked and with your mil discount 179 bucks for the pair…tough to beat.
I believe the principles still apply within the following:

I have a 12.5" crusader upper that I run an M4-2000 on and I don’t really notice a difference on OAL compared to my 10.5" MRP that also runs the can.
It is noticeably heavier, but during a carbine match I did not feel it while in action. I’m really liking the 12.5" upper so far, especially with switchblock.

I am one of these days going to finish my replacement mk18 upper. I was thinking about the 12.5" as well and have decided i eventually do one.
What makes the 12.5" stand out for me is the fact that I can do a Kino and still run it like a fixed front Middy with 9" handguards. Though my mk18 style upper will actually have a half inch more rail, I like the idea of having the FSB as I have moved away from them this past two years.
As far as ballistics, I don’t let that be a concern as each gun has it’s place and used appropriately, they all can work well.
I’m with Jon I want a Kino 12.5" you could also split the difference and get an 11.5".
What did you buy?
10.5 keep it short
11.5 or 12.5. Get a little better ballistics and a little less finicky.
Had a 10.3", now have a 12.5" with an SPR/M4 can on the way.
I found that 2" isnt going to change how I use my rifle, might as well get some more oomph.
I own 10.5, 11.5 and 12.5. Out of those 3, the 12.5 gets carried and used more.
Running a 1-4 Optic, a Daniel Defense Mk18 RIS II FDE rail, Vltor A5 and BattleComp 2.0, the 12.5 BCM rifle is my go to gun.
My 10.5 now strictly runs my 22lr conversion and my 11.5 sits in the safe unless I have a friend over. Let them use that to run drills.
this. for me currently 11.5 is my choice, but 12.5 would be a close second.
