NOT YOUR GRANDPA'S BLR

This is a gun that most people don’t know about but it has a long track record behind it.

I have shot them in the past but this is not your grandpa’s BLR hope you like what I did.

The rifle is 7lb 308 that just goes where ever you would like to take it.

A custom rifle is what I am talking about this gun has steel sights and an aimpoint H1 with a co witness.

Rifles like this are a real treat for me to do it took me a long time to get it right and I would love to know what you think about the gun.

I think the rack and pinion mechanism that’s central to this rifle’s design is really interesting and clever.

That being said, I’ve never shot any type of lever gun. Would you say that the R&P gears are an improvement [and/or smoother] over the traditional lever?

Also, that this rifle has a detachable mag, I can see the pros and cons about that too. In my book, the BLR is the Winchester 1895 of modern times, am I right?

wow
very nice. That optic set-up would have been handy back when I ran deer dogs or for hogs.
Years ago I hunted w/a fellow who used a BLR in 243, he was deadly with that thing, off the bench it was a legit 1 MOA rifle…

I was using my X-FIL’s 1964 winchester model 88 i 308, with a Bauch & Lomb scope, the adjustments were in the mounts, not the scope.

The difference in the two were night and day w/the edge to the BLR.

love it!

Uhhhh…I’ve NEVER wanted a lever gun…until now! That is a gorgeous rifle. Very nicely done!

that is an awesome BLR! great job

Nice setup.

That is exactly what I want in a truck gun. I’ve been weighing my options as I need a rifle that can be taken down to fit behind/underneath seats.

Nicely done…

I cut the barrel to 16.5 and the LOP to 12.5.
The whole gun is less than 2 feet long.

Thanks guys.

The RP mechanism is smooth as butter out of the box.

As to improvement it lets you have a gun that is lighter over all.

It is a 40 year old design and has had a good amount of use in the field.

I would call that a good record.

Took the words right outta my mouth…

absolutely beautiful

Thanks

It is indeed a beautiful utilitarian rifle.

I’ve got four Winchester 94’s and I’ve always admired the BLR’s that my hunting buddies have.

Thanks

That thing is bad ass. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you

You do very nice work sir.

Thanks
