So… Anybody have any experience in a Tactical Tandem Kayak?
Should I laugh or rub chin in deep thought?
Some one texed me that the other day, funny. I know the foreign legion has some stuff on there site about them.
They’re used for three reasons:
-
Stealth, as obviously they are quiet as can be.
-
They are lightweight, therefore portable and can turn on a dime in the water.
-
Lastly because if trained properly, as those two surely are, operators can overturn them under fire and paddle away upside down.
This was Navy SWCC before SWCC was SWCC ![]()
Hmm… Navy SWCC: The DDB (Daffy Duck Black) Projects.
Being a well broken in kayaker, it seems to me that the boat they have is wide, for stability, which means that they’re not too fast. It also looks to me that the boat is either covered in a camouflage cloth of some kind or its a break down boat.
Either case they’re sitting ducks in the water with weapons. Might give a one eyed duck hunter a challenge, otherwise I’m just not seeing the advantages overtaking the disadvantages.
(It’d be kinda cool to go kayaking with a suppressed m249 tho :D)
No minigun = fail.
The stealth capabilities are great, but if cover is blown I see no plan B ![]()
I laughed out loud when I saw this.
This made me actually “LOL” more than the picture. ![]()
The British used them on several ops during WW2. The most successful I know of was Operation Jaywick. Seven Japanese ships sunk with no British losses. Operation Frankton in France resulted in eight out of ten uniformed commandos being lost at sea or executed and two managing to evade German patrols and escape overland to Gibraltar via Spain in exchange for six ships being damaged.
