really an final assembly. I am looking to buy upper from JSE - 18" DTI complete with some upgrades and a Surplus Ammo (Aero Precision) lower complete. First gun, not looking for SHTF type just a good first shooter. Anything I should watch out for. Other option save some and have it built elsewhere upper and lower? Then who? Don’t have a ton but in time could spend $1600 max.
Upper would have the following:
Badger Gen 1 tac latch
YHM Phanton 5C1 Smooth
YHM TJ Rifle length handguard
Fix Troy HK front, Troy folding rear BUIS
Scoped 3-9x40 Redfield
A little friendly advice, someone is gonna be telling you to use the search button soon and do a little research. But before this gets closed, stick with the Surplus Ammo lower and get a good quality upper, barrel, and BCG. Almost all people on this site, including myself, would recommend a BCM complete upper. That was my first real shooter, and it makes a damn fine SHTF rifle as well. Other than that, the items you listed are pretty much just accessories and not essential to the operation of the weapon.
and be prepared to wait. i have been looking for a bcm upper for a few weeks now and they are out of stock. they say keep looking b/c when they are in stock they could sell out in a matter of min. but that will give you time to save a little more
Upper??? Parts used??? Barrel??? I am new to all of this and trying to build a decent gun at a decent price seems dang near impossible. I read Noveske is cats meow, Wilson Combat smae thing, La Rue etc. the list goes on. I know people have preferences, but as my daddy use to say, “opinions are like farts everybody has 'em and nobody wants to hear 'em” so read, read, read, and never buy or go with the flow and wait and save?
