normal wear on geissele ssa?

Just installed a geissele ssa on my lower last week and shot 100 rounds to break it in a bit. was cleaning it a few days ago and saw some odd wear on the edge of the hammer, where it looks like it’s been dragging on my bcg when the gun is cycling. Does this happen to anyone else with an ssa trigger?

My wear is all in the center part of the hammer.

Just over the internet its likely your BCG or the pin holes are slightly off center causing the hammer to sit at a slight angle in the lower.

Contact Geissele if you think its a trigger problem.

I looked at the trigger in the lower and it doesn’t look like it’s sitting at an angle. if it’s the bcg would a new upper reciever assembly help?

The wear doesn’t really look bad enough if it was canted in the lower you’d be able to readily tell with the naked eye.

Looking at the pics again that mark on the side looks like little hit marks rather than smooth wear. Can you check the underside of the BCG and see if you see any corresponding marks on it?

I checked the bcg and it has a giant streak and similar markings as well

Shrouded bc or unshrouded bc ?

.

How did the hammer you replaced with the Geissele look?

The pins wouldn’t have to be off much to cause the BCG to rub “unsquare”. I would think if you could see the hammer being angled, it probably would be so out of kilter that it wouldn’t work with the sear and disconnector??

heres pics of the bcg and old hammer as well

You can see the firing pin mark on the hammer it looks dead center to me. Most likely its a none issue. I would just keep an eye on it.

yea i probably will just keep an eye on it.

heres how the ssa looks in the lower.
