Noob question

Based on everyone’s recommendation I bought a Colt CR6720 (heavy SST barrel) hoping to use the 20" inch barrel for prairie dogs and having another lighter upper for coyotes.

I got the rifle and measured the take down pin and it measures .233 diameter, while the pivot pin measures .247"

Is this all normal? I thought that they both were .250 diameter

Will an another (BCM or DD or etc…) upper fit properly?

Lastly under the take down pin stand-off there is a red rubber bumper, what is this? is this normal? Every schematic I see doesn’t have this, what gives?

Thanks

In reference to the red rubber bumper, look at item #25 in the first schematic. http://code4lesales.com/repair.php
Here’s a thread discussing it’s purpose. https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=32599

I appreciate the info on the Accuwedge

regarding the pins: emergency aborted…LOL

I took out the rear pin described above and both the upper and the lower DO have a .25" hole through… so for some strange reason Colt decided to put in a smaller pin.

Long story, clearly it will accept any .25" pin upper!

thanks

Now I can celebrate with a bottle of wine! All is good today. Don’t you just love those simple solutions? Take care. :alcoholic:
