OK - I get to ask my dumb question of the week (hopefully not to become a habit).
Last time I took my new AR out (a Colt 6920) - I used CLP’s Foam cleaner on it, and did not consider the possibility that once it liquefied some of it would find its way into the gas tube.
Let it sit in the safe a week - first thing I noticed was blue liquid dripping out of the gas tube. I immediately re-cleaned the weapon and hit the gas tube with Gun Scrubber. However the gas tube’s inside is now a shiny blue!
Should I be looking at replacing it entirely…or just shooting it out? Either way it’s my dumb mistake that I intend not to make again!
If I go the replacement route - can it be done by a gunsmith w/o removing the barrel and the FSB?
