Skintop, Armychief and bkb I think are the most deserving/knowledgeable who contribute the most.
Less well known than the above but I know personally are very levelheaded/knowledgeable enough for a noob’s mentor - MTR7, Luxor, VASpence or BossHogg would get my vote as well.
Littlelebowski would also be someone to consider strongly.
Agreed Colddeadhands, with all the complaints about annoying, bad posts (and I include myself in that observation) we do have ALOT of knowledgeable and great members on M4C. With all the bad talk about new guys posting irritating threads and replies, nonetheless we have a VERY vast wealth of knowledge from some great guys. This is what makes this forum stand out.
I personally would like to see the mods get their heads together and nominate a mutual respected member who voted FOR removing the GD…not because the hopeful really wanted to see it gone persay, but concured about the same concerns the staff had.
Honestly, I feel this is headed in the right direction of becoming more self moderating by the regular gd cruisers. Even if mods / mentors aren’t around at the time of an offense, i’m betting a reg will not hesitate to throw their $0.02 in if something is clearly out of line.
There are dozens of guys who fit the bill. I’m trying to stick with guys who have been here longer than me and remind me why I was drawn here.

There are many others; IrishLuck73, ForTehNguyen, thopkins22, 120mm, Retreathell, Surf, Littlelebowski, MP/BC, VariableBinary, Nathan_Bell, Belmont31R, Safetyhit…I could go on.
There are some seriously quality folks here. This is great idea.
Make that a double face-palm. PRG is flat-out good people, I’ve seen him make some excellent mentoring posts here in the past. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting and dealing with him off-forum and he’s a consummate professional in those interactions, as well. He’s a busy guy, but if he’s got time, deserves the credit.
Thanks, but I think I fall short in many ways, not the least of which is a desire to “serve” or an understanding of what the “job” entails or the goals of the program.
