I think you guys make some great products. I purchase from you on a regular basis and will continue to do so. That said, step away from the laser engraver and take a coffee break. I personally think all of the in your face branding is tacky and over the top. I understand the many reasons for branding your products. But how about a nice roll mark on the uppers before the anodizing or moving them to the top of the receiver under where the BUIS would mount. The bolt carriers are especially garish to me. Again I understand the need for identifying your product but a simple roll mark before the finish is applied would be much less tacky. While you’re at it why not relocate it to a spot that isn’t in the ejection port.
Sorry for the rant. I just spent and hour cold blueing the logo on another one of your bolt carriers…
I understand what you guys are saying but I am thankful that they are branding their product so that there is a way to tell if it a BCM product. That being said I am sure there is a low key way that they could do it and still protect the name that they have built over the years.
You can opt for the blind version where they put the logo on the bottom where it’s not seen unless disassembled.
While I use to not like the idea of having BCM laser engraved. I don’t really care anymore, if anything it lets people know what I have without having to ask me. But then again the people at the gun range I go to would probably ask me “What’s BCM?” haha. A subdued logo would be cool but again I couldn’t care less about the logo anymore.
one good reason companies laser etch the logo on the BCG is some shady sellers try to sell a BCG saying it was a BCM or whatever when it wasnt. There’s no real way to tell by looking it it on a picture on the internet.
I remove tags from my t shirts cause they are itchy, and I debadge the logos from my car and plan to do it again to my truck. I get what your saying though
I don’t think the issue here is the logo itself, it’s the way it is done with bright silver laser etching. It’s about as low-key as a red filled spider engraving on the side of a lower.
i hate permanent logos on products too. i do sport a couple select logos that i think best identify my style… i have a Vltor sticker on my truck, for instance. it’s less a logo and more just “VLTOR” in plain white font- i dig it the two times a year somebody knows what it is, and starts a conversation about it. i also wear a Larue hat… which also sparks a fun conversation about once a year.
my biggest problem with BCM logos is that they suck… BCM, for the love of marketing- your logos are the weakest of all the good quality products out there. Noveske’s got a cool logo (even though they’re just biting off Independent), KAC has a cool logo, even LMT’s plain white italicized “LMT” is stylish in it’s retro industrial form… much better than the faux-military M.A.S.H. block lettering BCM logo…
