Google notified us on April 28th that weapon-related content is in violation of their policies. They gave us 72 hours to remove the content if LSN is to continue earning income through Google’s advertising campaigns.
We understand this will displease a portion of the LSN community. Realize this action was not only difficult but absolutely required to maintain LSN supporting revenue. The Local Sales Network is a FREE service; the majority of financial support is earned through our 3rd party [banner advertisers].
AS a result, you may no longer place any ads in any category advertising the sale of guns, rifles, firearms, ammo, or promoting any website that advocate the sale of the above.

We understand this is a very popular service and we have a solution. Our programmers are currently working around the clock developing a new local website that caters specifically to firearm enthusiast. This new website will be a separate service from LSN and will not have Google advertisements. We expect the website to be open in only a few days.
So who the hell uses Google anyways, besides Communist China, since “Google” cleared all those eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil “freedom” and “democracy” websites from their searches? :mad:
google did the same to my site. i had google ads on there, which generated revenue from visits. it helped offset my operating costs and was nice while it lasted. one day, they said that my weapons sections were in violation of their policy and i had to change my content or they’d disable the ads. so i took all the google ads off my site.
Crap, I run google chrome as my browser also. I hate to support a company that does not support the constitution. Now I have to switch… Freakin’ google. :mad:
What you can do is switch to SRWare Iron. It’s chrome with some of the google spy stuff removed. Chrome itself isn’t proprietary to Google. I have been running Iron for months now.
funny because they sure are willing to TAKE Your money for adwords that are “weapons” related (search on aimpoint or anything like that and see the paid ads that show up) though I had a page up that at one point was well googled about 7 years ago about my adwords account being cancelled for a similar reason.
I use their mail service and rss reader feature, pretty much locked in with the amount of stuff I’ve used that mail address for… Besides, there aren’t that many worthwhile competitors.
I block all their javascript, ads, random domains and such though. No google tracer cookies here…
