I have been waiting years for someone to manufacture 22lr ammo designed for suppressor use that uses clean propellants and copper plated bullets. Clean propellants and no exposed lead mean a clean suppressor.
The wait is finally over!
American Eagle 22lr 45gr Copper Plated Subsonic ammo designed for suppressor use with clean burning propellants:

Normally I use 3 types of ammo in all my .22lr rifles and pistols: Wolf MT, Eley Match, or CCI Standard Velocity. Some of my .22s are threaded and I have an AAC Prodigy suppressor.
Generally, after cleaning my Prodigy, at the 100 round mark my suppressor is absolutely filthy and basically seized shut because of the lead build-up.
Today the brown truck showed up with 500 rounds of the new AE suppressor load. I immediately pulled out my custom Ruger MkII and my AAC Prodigy:

I fired 100 rounds rapidly through my MKII with my newly cleaned suppressor. At the end of the 100 round test I inspected the suppressor. The suppressor unscrewed from its cover with no resistance. Normally I have to bust out the AAC tools to unscrew it, but not this time. The suppressor was as clean as it was before I fired a single round. No dust, or unburnt powder, no lead sticking to the walls of the cover. Nothing. I was absolutely amazed.
This has changed my life. Think of all the hours I will save. Cleaning the suppressor was such a pain in the ass. It took forever. No matter how much I cleaned it, I could never get the lead build-up off the walls of the cover. So much grueling work to clean that thing. But no more.
For those of you who are tired of cleaning your suppressors, it is time to rejoice! I have been waiting for years for this day.
On Sunday I will take it out and do some accuracy testing at 50 yards with my Savage MKIIs!
