I am looking to buy a le6920 from a place that can remove bayonet lug, install FSC556 compensator and pin the stock. So far i found ADCO and Specialized Armament. Positive reviews for these two shops? Any other shops you know of?
Do you need to change the comp or just weld it?
has to be changed cant be flash hider and yes has to be welded or pinned on
I hate this state, can’t wait to PCS, when are the gun owners going to gang up on Christie?
Gov. Christie might not be part of the solution, but the problem dates back to that tool Florio when he occupied the Governor’s mansion.
Do u really wanna go through all that trouble? I ask because u can just get a post ban model. I live in NJ and I got the mt6400c a couple yrs back. They still have that one on the Colt site plus the mt6400r which has free float rail and no carry handle. Stocks are pinned and no flash hiders on both (nothing on the end of the barrel at all). Back when I got mine it came with a huge pinned compensator which is extremely loud.
I’ve seen posts here in the past that suggest that this line of rifles has all the quality stuff that the le6920 does. Mine had all the right stuff also as far as I could verify including the m16 BC. I wasn’t gonna pull the fron’t sight base off to see if it was parkerized or whatever it was supposed to be under there. In my case I did find that the FCG pins were the undesirable size. Maybe they changed that though. But really, does it make a difference to the average shooter?
Check out this post I put up. It has a lot of pics. Also there is at least one link in there to another post that talks very well about the mt6400c and how it’s almost identical to the le6920.
I’ve had ADCO cut off a bayo lug and pin an FSC556 and they did good work, very fast turn around too.
After reading this thread earlier I started to
Wonder if maybe grant at G and R tactical
Could help you with your problem ? As he
Has the 6920CA thats legal in california !
Maybe that model will be just the ticket for
You ? Or I think he can mod a 6920 to be
NJ legal ? So you might want to ask him !
Btw the 6920CA has the stock and comp/brake
Pinned and/or welded on and comes with a
Bullet button and I think two nine round mags !

I agree with Redline. Unless you already have a 6920 upper save your time and money and just purchase one of the BAN compliant Colt rifles (MT6400C).
I got in touch with Ken at Specialized Armament and they are colt dealer that does upgrades on colts. He will do what I’m looking for, anyone heard of them? I’ll check out the 6400
How much were they asking for the 6920 + AWB compliant mods?
I believe Grant is asking $999.00 for the 6920CA
- I will give G&R a call see what he can do
Doesn’t this state suck?
I just said F-it and built my own.
Have an e-mail to LaRue about modifying and PredatAR… I need to move… just wish it was that easy.
Either way, I always hear positive things about ADCO on here but as others have said, it may be easier to buy a ban compliant rifle to begin with. The only problem I see with that is that the stocks are usually pinned all the way extended or close to it, which makes the rifle very difficult to use unless you are a tall dude, and even so, may not be optimal. When you have some modify it for you, you can have them set the stock at what ever “click” you choose, so that is a big plus for a short guy like me.
Good Luck
I have one to larue also let me know what they say I haven’t heard back yet. I have stag that is ban compliant and I hate how far back stock is pinned and the comp is horrible
I have one to larue also let me know what they say I haven’t heard back yet. I have stag that is ban compliant and I hate how far back stock is pinned and the comp is horrible also have a colt 6700 with same cheap comp
Oddly enough… just got an e-mail. They said they will make it compliant prior to shipping which is good because this way its only one transfer and I don’t have to worry about some guy in an NJ Gun Store messing with it. To nice and too expensive to mess with.
I bought an NJ Legal BM before I knew better [before I knew of M4C.com lol] I replaced the factory long ass pinned stock on some off ball RE with a BCM RE/Spring and H Buffer and pinned an MOE stock onto it myself.
I just find it to be easier [usually] to just build your own gun living in this state. I can choose the comp to be pinned, and have access to welders who can do the job for me for free and with EXCELLENT quality while I stand there for the 30 seconds it takes to do the work. The stock pinning is even easier. So aside from this LaRue gun, I will always just build my own.
Sounds pretty high. If you get the 6920 from Grant, have him ship it directly to ADCO, have them do the AWB compliant work and then ship it to your FFL it’ll be:
$965 - 6920 from Grant
$100 - FSC556
$145 - pin brake, pin stock, remove bayo lug from ADCO
~$20 - having to pay shipping twice
Not sure if Grant will do the AWB mods himself, that could save you even more.
I think grant can do the mods as well
I believe the 6920CA comes ban compliant
Directly from colt ! I know its gtg in
California not sure about NJ wouldnt hurt
To ask grant ! If it is $999.00 aint to bad
For a colt plus they have the new roll mark
" M4 Carbine " if that matters to you ?
