I bought a M-223 with the mount, got it used. Is the mount a return to zero mount or just a normal mount it in the same slot and it might be close?

Over the years, I have had good luck with getting even cheap mounts to return to zero if I use the same torque and forward pressure each time you install it.
Proper initial installation is important to repeatability also.
But maybe it’s just me…

A friend who is an avid and talented shooter said he can get pretty darn close using same slot and torque wrench. Myself, not so lucky. I would say you will be on paper but I wouldn’t be satisified until I put a couple of rounds down range. The Nikon M-223 AR Mount is a very good mount. I have a lot of friends who have made this their mount of choice after seeing my set up and realizing they didn’t need to drop $300 to keep their scope in place.
