Nightforce 2.5-10 x32 vs the IOR 2-12

I am going to re scope my Larue Stealth. I had my Swarovski Z6I 1-6 power on it and I was going to use it as a 3 gun rifle but its too heavy. I am moving the Swarovski to my DDm4. I am sold one of my TA33’s and will be adding some cash to it to buy a new scope for the Larue 20 inch Stealth. I am considering the Night Force 2.5-10. I really like night force scopes. But the IOR looks interesting. Any thoughts from you guys on the pros and cons of each scope.

The only problem with both the IOR and NF is that they don’t have, unlike your Swarovski, a daylight-visible-illuminated-reticle (DVIR). Furthermore you’ll find NF’s new 2.5-10x32 is heavier and longer than your Swarovski and will certainly make your 3-gun thunderstick more cumbersome to handle. Also if you go the NF or IOR route and add a red-dot offset it will push you into Open Class. I would definately stick with the Swarovski for 3-gun.

As a viable suggestion you may want to check out the Swarov Z6 1.7X10X42 as well.

Get a lighter upper.

Another option to consider are the 2.5-10x24 Nightforce scopes. They’re lighter and shorter than the 32mm objective lense NF scopes. They were recently discontinued, so most retailers are pricing them to move. You can get one with NVD settings, Zero Stop turrets, and free MRAD turret upgrades (if wanted) for around $1,200.

You’ll save two inches of length, two ounces of weight, and about $200-400 compared to the 2.5-10x32 NF scopes.

Thanks guys I am going to do another lighter gun build as a three gun rifle. I plan on turning my stealth into a DMR. That is why I was interested in these two scopes.

IOR Valdada is not known for making light weight optics. Both are nice but I would have to give “thumbs up” to…NF.

Your right and I an going to use my Swarovski on my three gun rifle. But this will be more of a DMR build.
